Bottom Pan Cover or nice chew toy for Fancy Rats?
This is a weekly expense for our family, but I am still willing to do it. Our fancy rats smelled terrible. I mean terrible. As with most pets, I - as the mom, have now been left taking care of them. I researched why they smelled so badly and came to the conclusion that maybe I was keeping the cage too clean. I also read that fleece can absorb their smell and make them more comfortable so they are not as likely to scent mark. So, I added fleece to the bottom of the Critter Nation cage by getting the pan liner. The other two shelves are bare and I wipe them down with a half water/half vinegar solution almost every day. Our smell issue is pretty much gone. Product Details. This fleece is a nice comfortable size. Having purchased it 20 times now, I can speak well for it. It has a velcro closure on one end. It is glorious when you install a fresh new one - like new socks. You can put the purple or the blue size up. I alternate the colors, but I always try to do the contrasting color on the ramp to help avoid any accidents. (We have had a rat fall before.) You can wash it in the washing machine, but I would rather not because they are gross in the rat-way when you take them off. It also fits fine with the wonky bottom rails that critter nation sells. It comes in a sturdy plastic bag with a button open closure almost like bedding, so it is really easy to get out and use right away. Why buy so many? This thing gets a hole chewed in it in 1 day. It must be yummy or something. If your rats chew like our little Stink-Puffs, be prepared to buy it often or find something else. My two "fancy" street rats go under the liner and have Fight Club. I can often hear someone squeaking under there. They can always get out if they want to though. We have never had a issue with a rat getting stuck under the liner because they chewed a hole in it. My conclusion is that I really like this product. I wish it lasted longer. Honestly I think it would get chewed up no matter how thick the fleece was. For me, I am willing to throw money at the problem to make it easier, stink less, and save time. These "disposable" liners work for us.

Not Superb, Not Bad Either
It's a bit bigger than I thought it'd be, and I don't much like that the hooks it comes with are plastic. I much prefer to switch them out for stainless steel or something of that sort. The inside stitching is a bit easily accessible by particularly nibble-y rats, which is what I got mine for. I filled it with fleece scraps, which mostly distracts my little rat-panions from nibbling the hammock itself TOO much, but if you have a well known chewer as a pet, this may not be the best option as mine has only seen a month of use and already is being destroyed at the stitches. I know it's not very aesthetically pleasing, but maybe outer stitches would have been the wiser choice. Either that or a cover over the stitches to prevent too much immediate damage to them. Other than that, the material is soft and warm and my two female rats adore snuggling in it together to keep warm during this chilly winter season. Also, I will add, I'd like this product a bit more if it came with something to support the bottom. Just my two six week old rats cause the bottom to dip down super low, which isn't a big deal but makes them sleeping up in the corners a bit uncomfortable or borderline impossible. Also, taking it in and out for cleaning (depending on the cage you own) might be a pain. A flap of some sort on the side of this thing would have been brilliant for cleaning or peeking in on anyone inside if need be.

Watch out for SMALL PIECES!!
I bought two of these to use for my foster kittens in their cat condo. They love to run across them and wrestle to see who can knock the other off the ladder first. For starters, I love that the fabric is easily removable and can go in the washer on a delicate cycle. A couple of things about it- it has rubber ends that WILL COME OFF. It’s meant to help the ladder grip onto a ledge, but I didn’t realize they could come off easily until the kittens chewed every one of them off (see pic of teeth marks!). I got worried that they may have eaten one as I could only find three out of the four ends, but this was several weeks ago and they have been fine since. I went ahead and threw the rubber ends away to save me the panic of it happening again. As for the Velcro, I wish it was a snap button instead. The kittens play rough on these ladders, and sometimes the Velcro comes undone and the fabric slides down, exposing just the metal part. It’s only happened a few times though, and it’s not enough for me to complain. Overall, I still give these ladders five stars for a great product. Knowing that these were meant for ferrets, the problems I had with the ladders may just be from unintended usage. I don’t know if ferrets would be as rough with them.

Great shirt cover to keep my bird from pooping on my shirts.
This hanging thing is just okay. It was purchased for a sun conure, and the plan was to make it so that it would be a cuddle corner inside of the sun conure's cage. The medium size was far too large for that- and the small size felt a bit on the small side. What ended up happening is that it became a covering to keep people's shirts from being pooped on when giving the sun conure shoulder rides. If you clip it up just right, you can even make a little cave for your sun conure to huddle in. The colors are pretty, and the fabric is quite resistant. My conure can hold onto it with no problem. One odd thing is the clips- they are backwards. I am sure this is on purpose, but the clip is clipped onto the loops on the blanket, as opposed to being threaded through the loops on the blanket. This means that the blanket and the cage both share the clip, and the loop on the opposite end of the clip goes unused. This is perhaps the biggest annoyance and the reason why I had to give this item three stars. It is okay, but the clips are just so counter intuitive. Yes, I realize that they were probably made that way for a reason- but I don't get it and I don't like it.

Very Durable and Soft
The product is as shown in the photos. The velcro allows for easy assembly onto the pan. It's very durable and even hold up in a washing machine. Its performance stands up to little claws very well and doesn't tear. It's well worth the price if you are not a crafter. However, it can also be easy to make yourself so it depends how much you think the effort is. It perfectly fits the needed pan sizes but make sure to measure beforehand.
