The adhesive goes on easily and gets tacky fast, so you do have to work quickly—but once it sets, it’s solid. No peeling, no leaks, even after a few rainstorms and a car wash. I’d recommend wearing gloves and having some paper towels handy—it can get a bit messy if you’re not careful. But the bond is super strong, and it saved me from replacing the whole seal. Great product for car repairs or anything rubber-to-metal. Would definitely buy again.

Appropriate glue for fitting new rubbers to vintage cars

Dont bother with rtv or black silicone, get this 3M weatherstrip sealant. It can get a little messy but keep a supply of paper towel or rags and you will be fine. I found it smooths out beautifully using the 'wet your finger' trick we all do with silicone. When it dries its super flexible and stays stuck. Clean the area with alcohol or cleaner of course before using. Works like a charm!
