This is one of this little items that's nice to have if, say, you buy a newer laptop (Mac or Windows) that only have USB-C ports, but you still have an older pair of EarPods or other, wired headphones that you want to still use. This item works fine, it makes old tech work with new tech just like you'd want it to.l
