Will not play music, only charges phone, slowly.
Despite stating in the description that this cable does not output audio or video, it is still misleading as it says "Media in AMI". Purchased this thinking it would play music from my phone to my 2013 VW Tiguan. It does not, only charges as far as I can tell. Cord is very short and the phone charges very slow. It's a nice backup but it's so short it doesn't make sense as an everyday car charger.

The port fits, but the power delivery is from the previous generation.
The product performs the exact same as a normal MDI adapter connected to a female USB 2.0 type B port. It does not provide enough Power/Current for the 9v at 3A (27 Watts) required for Power Delivery on most modern devices.I suppose it's possible that the MDI port simply doesn't provide >27 Watts power. But if that's the case, then this product is DEFINITELY unnecessary.The seller also commented that the product was nearly 1-meter long. It's ~20-inches, or 0.5-meters long.

Broke after 3 mos
Product worked just fine for a little while. Then the metal tip came out of the plastic end and was crooked. Don't want to get it stuck in phone, so I just replaced with another product.

VW cable
well it fits the VW and my phone well, what i didn't like about it is that it charges my phone super slow. You are better off getting a lighter charger then use this to charge your phone.
