Excellent
This is an excellent tablet if you prefer to own something other than an iPad. It comes loaded with apps, many of which you won't want but these can be discarded once you've settled on your favourites from Google Play. Maybe Lenovo have moved on since the K1 was launched, but I think this tablet is a real pleasure to own.

Concern over One Year Guarantee
Purchased item 17th January 2011 new from this seller. Has worked ok since. Suddenly won't turn on 1st Dec. It's ok, as it has a one year guarantee. Put in serial number to check status of warranty on Lenovo site and oddly shows this started in October 2011. So has now expired. Contacting seller. Will update...

Fails in performance, returned.
Even though Lenovo are renowned for high quality laptops (I own a Thinkpad T510 and it is perfect) I think they have fallen short on this one. This is a high priced item having bought the 64gig version and the docking station too. The pen was advertised as being supplied with the item, this is not true and needs to be purchased separately. It struggled with flash playback. Using it to stream from the BBC website using the iPlayer, it would often stop randomly and there was clearly processing problems with black triangle flashing on the playback. I tested this with two separate machines on separate internet connections with same results. The GPS is was virtually useless as it took a very long time on a clear day to obtain a signal, 12 minutes covering about 6 miles whilst driving. Again tested on two machines with the same results. When it would finally find a fix, it would report a loss of signal soon after. I also used the Asus Transformer and never had these problems. The docking station can only be mounted vertically so using it to assist in watching TV streaming it is useless. A great idea with superb physical connectivity and tactile buttons and some nice software but the whole machine felt clunky to use. I appreciate it is not marketed as a media machine, but for what is essentially a hundred pounds or more over other ones that perform better, I would expect at least similar performance.

Lenovo K1 tablet
Absolutely brilliant, takes a little time to find your way around the software as you would expect, but no complaints what so ever a quality tablet highly recommended.

You don't know how good it is until you've got one!
Chose the Lenovo because it has all the features of the more expensive tablets but at a cheaper price - and I am not disappointed. Screen resolution is brilliant. Camera has features you'd expect to find on an expensive digital camera eg ability to choose lighting conditions. Would definately recommend buying it.
