GOTY 2014 was the second time I played season 1 of The Walking Dead
It's hard to add to the many accolades already given to the first season of Telltale's amazing Walking Dead, so I'll just make a few comments about the Xbox One version. It is the best version I've played - my first time being on PC, then on Vita (which was a subpar version). The Xbone port is very solid - it looks fantastic, runs smoothly, and has some nice depth of field affects I don't remember from PC. I still ran into a couple of bugs, but I only had to quit to the main menu and re-load one time, so it's hardly worth mentioning. This is a very mature title with strong language (lots of f-bombs), and the characters struggle with depression, alcoholism, racism and many more issues, so be aware that it earned it's "M" rating. The disk includes the five episodes from Season 1, along with the special episode "400 Days" which is a mix of epilogue moments for S1 characters, and prologue moments for new S2 characters. The disk only has 1000 gamerscore points, but you are guaranteed to get all of them if you complete all of the content, which is probably about 12-15 hours total, depending on how long you linger in between the action, and how many conversation options you go through. It's highly, highly recommended, and is considered to be the the most important adventure game of in recent years. It established Telltale as the company they are today, and allowed them the opportunities to go on and make Game of Thrones, Wolf Among Us, Tales from the Borderlands, and Minecraft: Story Mode.

Basically a playable show that was surprisingly addictive
What a great game. I didn't know what to expect. As I played it and got the feel of the controls and gameplay it just grew on me. I wanted to keep playing to see what happened next. It's different from the usual zombie game. It's less shooting and more story but it all comes together and is still fun to play. Pretty much like Mass Effect with choice of responses but also has choices for outcomes as well.I thought Season 1 was way better than 2 but still glad I picked both up.

Good story but in the first season the controls were ...
Typical telltale games offering. Good story but in the first season the controls were so awkward on the console as to make me want to throw my controller. Would have rated this 4 stars except for the control issue. They did get a lot better in the second season and with their other offering The Wolf Among Us. I'm looking forward to their Borderlands offering later this month.

Wow
I used to work for Amazon, so I know that a lot of the DVDs/cds there aren’t even in the correct spot you shake it and you can hear the DVD shaking all around getting scratched up so very thankful that this arrived in its spot.

Very enjoyable game
Very fun game to play. It's basically like watching a TV show, but getting to participate. I haven't played through the whole game yet, but it seems like your choices affect only secondary storylines - the main storyline stays the same regardless of your choices. But that has no effect on my enjoyment of the game. Everything from the story to the awesome job setting the mood with music to the comic book-style graphics contributes to a very cool gaming experience.

Should have known
Ordered this game for my son, who is an avid TWD fan for sheltering in during COVID-19. I had a feeling from previous video game purchases that this game would not be that great, but because of the situation I took a chance. My son couldn't wait to play game when he received it. He satisfied that urge once, but hasn't picked up the game since. It is very basic and not really like being a "character" from TWD. I just wish I could return an open game. And BTW he has picked up many games that he used to play like Skylanders and For Honor, and can go for hours on them.

Fun game
Only got 4 stars instead of 5 due to the overuse of language. While my daughter is 15 and son is 12 and they know better it is still overdone. I think it may be worse than playing Aliens as far as language goes. ( Yet I do crack up at the line on Aliens " If I die I am going to F-bomb kill you") The kids love this game and are hooked on the series.
