Rockport mens Perth Boat Shoe

These are wonderful shoes. Someone talked about how the sole pulled away. I had the same thing happen with mine...in 2003. They've changed the way the sole is connected to the shoe, and is no longer a problem. There's cushioning within the shoe that makes them very comfortable. I walk all day long, and definitely can tell the difference with these, compared other deck shoes I've had. I might mention that I do wear an A-width shoe. I purchased the B-width. I can wear them with comfort, but can slip them off without having to untie them. I can say they're true to size because I can take them off without untying them. If they were A-width, I'd have to untie them. That's not what I wanted. Really though, they absorb impact extremely well, and are comfortable all day long. I normally polish my shoes the day I receive them, to insure a barrier to water. I didn't with these, and they're doing great so far. I've literally worn them every working day since they've arrived and still love them. These are now my spring and summer shoes. My fall and winter shoes, just so you don't think I'm someone trying to sell for the company, is Russell Moccasin. I have them custom made, but they cost a crap load, and takes about nine months to receive your order. These, I received within a week. Great shoes, and well worth the less than one hundred dollars!

Nice looking comfortable boat shoe. The suede leather is nice and will be appreciated by most customers. However, I had to return the shoe because the soft tongue would fold down on me when putting on the shoe. I’m handicapped and use a long Amazon shoe horn but can’t bend over far enough to reach and pull or hold the tongue.The Rockport Beeswax leather model is a heavy leather and poses no problems for me. It is about $35 more but so much more durable. I’ve worn mine hard over one year and they still look great. Love the fact that they have the narrow widths. The size is 12N and works for me. I’ve ordered a second pair of the heavier bees wax model. So, yes I do like that particular shoe.

This is my 5th or 6th pair of these shoes in the last 10-12 years. I'm 6'3" and weight in at 290 lbs. and these shoes hold up very well. I wear them with socks when I'm wearing slacks or jeans and they are equally comfortable without socks when I'm wearing shorts. The soles wear very evenly and I get a lot of mileage out of them. The uppers are very good too and I've never had a problem with any of the stitching. The uppers are leather so they will conform to your feet. It's okay if they feel a bit tight at first.

Having worn a number of Sperry and LL Bean boat shoes in the past, I can honestly say this is my new all-time favorite pair. I was looking for a pair of boat shoes with that classic look (not the modern, overdone ones like the Sperry Billfish), but with a comfortable sole that I can stand/walk all day in. To top it off, I have rather wide feet, so finding a perfect fit is never easy.These Perths have an incredibly comfortable sole with decent arch support. I can wear them at my standing desk all day and not feel flat-footed or sore in the heels after work, and can walk around town without feeling like I'm barefoot. The leather is of very good quality, and it took very little time to break them in, even going sockless my first time wearing them. I'm a true fan now, and will absolutely buy another pair once I wear these out -- which may be a long while, as they seem very sturdy and well constructed.

In general, this is a nice shoe. However, years ago, the original Rockport sold out to another company. I believe it was Adidas. I heard that Adidas destroyed all of the original lasts. This was a terrible mistake!!! The new Rockports look fine but never fit quite as well as the ones originally made by Rockport. As a result, many people, including me, have switched to other brands (usually more expensive) in an effort to obtain comfortable shoes, particularly comfortable dress shoes. This shoe feels OK when you put it on but because it doesn't fit as well as the old Rockport Perth shoes my feet feel sore after I've worn them for a full day. This never happened with the old Rockport Perths. Thank goodness I kept a pair of the old ones and am able to get them repaired at Nordstrom.

First time I've ordered shoes from the internet...much to my surprise, they arrived on time, fit correctly and at a great price. I would certainly recommend these Rockports.UPDATE: These shoes SQUEAK! All of the above still holds true, but, these shoes are BY FAR the noisiest things I've ever put on my feet EVER!...and it's distracting to me and those around me. Are they made of plastic?UPDATE # 2I’ve lowered my rating for these. They make so much noise when I walk, that they actually bother others around me! Thus, when I do wear them, it’s when I am alone. No longer can recommend.Update #3I really hate these! I’ve had them for almost a year now and I’ve tried time after time to show love…Can’t! They are overly heavy, generally remain stiff and still make noise as I walk. I have other Rockport shoes and they’re great. These are not. I would equate their feel to a cheap pair of very heavy denim jeans that simply will never become comfortable, no matter how many times they are worn and washed. I got a great price when I bought them here on Amazon. If I knew then what I know now…….I would have stayed miles away…suggest you do as well.
