A Mind for Numbers: How to Excel at Math and Science (Even If You Flunked Algebra) Paperback – July 31, 2014

This book is wonderful.A lot of techniques, a lot of explanations and analogies easy to understand, a lot of inspiriting words... I wish I had a book like this one earlier, when I was a student 20 years ago! I would have mastered high school and college! Easily!

I took the Learning How To Learn Course with Coursera by Dr. Oakley and then purchased this book. This book is not only for students in math and science but for everyone in every field, even adult learners of musical instruments. In this book, there are many wonderful techniques that nobody ever taught us.

I enjoyed reading this book and got some tips from this book. It was worthwhile reading I would recommend this book to anyone in college or a freshman in college or even high schoolers

タイトルから、自然科学に特化した学習法しか載っていないように見えますが、実際は一般に通用します。脳科学をベースにした、効率的な学習に関する理論に基づいたアドバイスが載っています。diffuse modeとfocused modeの理論から提示された学習法は大変参考になっています。思いつくマイナス面としては著者が意図的にそのように構成しているのですが、ちょっとゴチャゴチャしていて後で見直しづらいです。復習するには付箋などがマスト。

Take outs would be:-Practice makes "better", the problems are not going to become easy themselves, but you are going to become more capable problem solver through practice.-Be creative when you memorise. i.g. make a story out of the material that you are trying to memorise.

Anyway, I think this book is useful but not around the mathematics.
