Ten star greatness
I purchased this as a sleep tracker only (when my fit-t died after less than a year and the company got acquired by the data-mining king). Then I realized I could use this instead of the Pol-r chest heart rate strap I was planning to get for my rowing machine, and that arm/wrist placement is way more convenient. Then I realized the app keeps improving and tracks a bunch of stuff including my workouts. I compared it to my friend's $pple device after a long hike and the stats were almost identical. Even food logging is so simple, you can speak your foods and it calculates calories and protein content fairly quickly and accurately, plus you can edit entries. Then I got into an argument with my sister and the thing started vibrating violently on my wrist (I didn’t even know it could vibrate) and I realized it was warning me my stress level was too high! So this thing is ending up to be FANTASTIC and way more useful than I thought. The only negative so far is that the strap it comes with is too large for me (I have tiny wrists and arms and could use it as a bicep band except it is non-stretchy so uncomfortable there), BUT it uses regular style watch bands (22mm) so that is another plus! Get whatever band you want. I love that this device is comfortable, lightweight, has good battery life and allows me to wear a regular watch (you know, the kind with an always on display that doesn't need nightly charging). With the added security of not tracking and selling data without my permission, no subscription and an affordable price i think this is a NEAR PERFECT fitness and bio tracker. (Please, Amazfit, don't let a bigger company buy or influence you and ruin this good thing you have going).

Excellent! A Super Comfortable and Accurate 24/7 Activity Tracker.
I love that the Amazfit Helio Strap is a screen-less activity tracker. It keeps me focused and allows for comprehensive 24/7 health tracking without distractions. What impressed me the most: Comfort: The wristband is incredibly lightweight and comfortable. I can wear it while sleeping all night without any irritation. Sleep Tracking: The sleep data is highly accurate, providing deep insights that have helped me understand and improve my rest quality. Heart Rate (HR) Tracking: The heart rate monitoring is quite stable and reliable during both daily activity and workouts. Battery Life: The battery lasts a very long time, eliminating the worry of frequent charging. Overall: If you are looking for a fantastic activity tracker that focuses on detailed health metrics and is comfortable to wear all day, this is an excellent choice!

A strong (say 4.5 stars) competitor to Whoop
Updated review Jan 2026 - FYI battery life is excellent, usually 6-7 days before charging and best news is that it looks like the algorithm is self learning which is great. I can now wear on my wrist, it recognized workouts (identified as "activities") and is as accurate as my Garmin 55. Performance is now very similar if not equal to Whoop and Garmin. The App could use some updates but otherwise definitely a strong alternative to Whoop. Updated review - now 4 stars. Moving Helio Strap to bicep made a total difference. Would be a 4.5 if it worked for me on wrist. Original review Have been a Whooper for past 1.5 years, and based on reviews wanted to try Helio Strap. Have been wearing Whoop and Helio strap on same wrist for past 3 weeks and here are my observations. I also use a Garmin watch for training and Whoop and Garmin show very similar results from exercise. Pros: Battery Life - excellent, 8-10 days so far. Product Support - excellent - I contacted them twice by email and received responses within 24 hours Fit/Comfort - excellent Choice of alternative bands - excellent (many choices available on Amazon), picked up 4 for $10 versus the $20-50 choices for Whoop. A non-Whoop band fit but did not work for exercise or fast motion. Subscription - Excellent, as there is none!! Sleep Mode Detection - Excellent and very similar to Whoop results. App - Good, not as well laid out as Whoop and hopefully will continue to improve. Battery Charger - Good, except that the Helio Strap site does not indicate that the T-Rex chargers (2 for $10) will work. Whoop extra/replacement battery is $49. Cons: Activity/Exercise - Not good for multiple exercises chosen. I have tried manually starting activity (outdoor running) and tried non-GPS mode or switching it to treadmill. I did not measure the full workout. On advice of customer care, switched detection level to high, and it did detect running but did not end it when I finished. The calculations it made for the zones of heartrate were not correct and way off (too low). This is the one area that I hope company focuses on as Whoop definitely works flawlessly here. I will try GPS mode and also moving monitor to my upper arm and report back. Heartrate - accurate and same as Whoop. However calculations of heart zones during exercise way off (too low) Overall I still believe this is very good value for the money and will continue to use. I do hope they can address/improve the algorithms for exercise/activities.

Great product
This Helio Strap is a great option if you like detailed training data but do not want another full smartwatch screen on your wrist. It tracks 24/7 heart rate, HRV, sleep stages, stress, and 27+ sports modes (including strength and HYROX) with second-by-second data, then turns it into clear recovery and training insights in the Zepp app—without any subscription. The strap is light, water‑resistant to 5 ATM, and gets up to about 10 days of battery life, so you can wear it day and night with very little charging or fuss

Great fitness tracker
I enjoy collecting watches so I wanted a fitness tracker that wasn’t a watch and doesn’t beep and vibrate every time I get a text, call or email. It does a great job of monitoring my workouts, heart rate, sleep and many other things. It tracks my resting HR and HRV, when it’s out of normal range it indicates overtraining or illness. Battery life is great, the bio charge meter works and HR is dead on with my chest strap all with no subscription. I purchased a bicep strap which I wear most of the time and it seems to be more accurate on my upper arm except steps, I don’t care about steps so it doesn’t matter to me. It does not read blood pressure, which I wish it did, maybe Amazfit will include that in an update soon.

Excellent fitness tracker!
Excellent fitness tracker! I've used the two most popular options on the market, the Oura Ring and the Whoop Band, and if you're looking to track your sleep and fitness activities, look no further. It does it just as well as the best on the market at a fraction of the price and without monthly fees. I've been using it for about 6 months and so far it's great.

Amazing product and app
I bought this band because I have a chronic illness and wanted something to help me with pacing myself. My Apple Watch just wasn’t doing enough. I have been interested in the visible band, but it’s pricey with the subscription, as are all the other bands in the same realm. I wanted something to track my pulse and liked the idea of the biocharge! I’ve had this band almost a month now and I have nothing but great things to say! It’s very accurate at tracking my sleep, pulse, and activity. I love that you can even easily track calories in the app as well! It charges quickly and last for 10 days (I’m amazed!!) I like the biocharge feature, but don’t feel like it’s accurate for someone who has chronic illness. I notice I am completely wiped out by 40-50 biocharge, which a healthy person that may be accurate. With that in mind, the band helps with what I wanted it for. I do wish there could be some sort of setting for chronically ill people, so it encourages me to slow down and take breaks instead of encouraging to keep working out. Overall, great purchase and the app is amazing and I’m so pleased that almost all features are available for free! P.S. I did buy a separate bicep band to wear on my arm so I still have space for my Apple Watch, would love to see more band options, maybe something stretchy/cloth?

Solid for replacing Fitbit. Easy-to-lose charger.
I got this because I needed to ditch Fitbit before being forced to use a Google account with it. I've used a Fitbit for at least 5 years. Not for intentional exercise or smartphone features, but steps, heart rate and sleep tracking. Everything I was tracking with Fitbit lines up with the Amazfit strap. My heart rate is basically the same, steps and sleep tracking seems pretty good -- at least catching me awake vs asleep. On the sleep tracking part, this differs quite a bit from Fitbits in that Fitbit adds naps to your sleep for the day whereas Amazfit does not. Naps do increase your Biocharge, which seems to represent your energy levels throughout the day. Amazfit seems to catch naps quite well, though possibly a bit oversensitive. For example, if I put myself into a relaxed state and don't move, Amazfit may record that as a nap even if I may not be sleeping. I think the mobile app is solid, though I had a hard time getting it installed on my tablet -- said there was a compatibility issue (maybe it wasn't supported) and I had to use the apk to get the app. Like with Fitbit, you can install the app on a phone or tablet that you leave at home and it'll sync up your heart rate and steps when you get back to it hours or even days later. I don't know whether sleep data is stored long term yet (overnight) as I haven't tried it. The thing I most dislike about the Amazfit strap is the charger. It's about a 1"x1" by maybe 1/4" square unit. Easy to lose. I lost mine today. It's small and doesn't stick out. If you don't leave it attached to a USB cable, you can easily lose track of it. If you get one of these, you may want to consider getting an extra charger or two so you don't have a dead battery waiting for a replacement to arrive.
