Sheer Essence Agarwood Oil

I've amassed a collection of different "oud" scents, including some very expensive ones. Some have said that this can't be "real" oud because of the price. Real or not, THIS is the one I love! Sweet, aromatic and intensely addictive. Getting a few more bottles for my DIY body butters and such.

Really strongly scented. You do not need a lot of this to scent anything. It starts to be overwhelming w too much.

This vendor is in India and you will have to be patient with the delivery, but I have to tell you it is worth the wait. I just got Oud yesterday and I blended it with Jasmine that I bought from them over a year ago. I have to tell you I will never tire of this combo. It is so rich, I imagine kings and queens wear this... The scent lasted all day and you can breath them in over and over again without a headache... which tells me they must be real. I also have to compliment them on thier fail proof packaging. Very nice improvement!!!

This smells nothing like the oud scent I've come to love in other products. Don't buy it just because it's cheap. If you want a cheap, STRONG, authentic (AFAIK) oud scent that can be used full-strength, diluted, and/or blended with other scents as you like, check out Broke Ass Beard Supply Company's "Oud, Oud, Oud + Even More Oud" beard oil. It's not just for beards!

I have purchased this product repeatedly for years and will continue to do it. It does take a while to get to you because you’re importing it from India; however, there is no equal to this product.

First of all I question if the one review for this oil is authentic for as much as it cost there's more to be said. It comes from very far away like India or someplace it took about 2 1/2 or 3 weeks to get to me. DHL delivered it on a Sunday and put it behind some bushes and I couldn't even find it, they don't take pictures of their deliveries. I will say it was packaged really well. I could hardly get it open. It is a large can 8.4oz and it is thick like some motor oil. Which is what it smelled like to me when I first put it in my diffuser and I was completely disappointed I was hurt and devastated because I was looking for something amazing and sweet. I felt like I had been robbed and if the process to send it back wasn't so complicated I would have done just that. It's a thick heavy type of fragrance and I absolutely hated it. It sat on the shelf for a couple of months then decided to try it again my expectations had been lowered by now and I could not think what to do with except pour it out but I had spent so much money for it and I couldn't do that. So the second time I liked it a little better I did get a wiff of some sweetness a very subtle sweet smell. This oil is deep, complex and expensive. Would I buy it again? Absolutely Not. But I can say I think this is the real deal for Agarwood oil so if I was to smell another brand I would be able to tell the difference. You cannot put a lot in the diffuser cause it's sooo thick and would clog the air vent in the bottom of the diffuser. Honestly I can't recommend it unless someone is looking for real Agarwood oil. I don't know how it's processed but it reminds of motor oil I've never had an oil this thick. But every now and again I get a desire to diffuse it and I actually enjoy it now but it took a long time for it to grow on me.

I knew from the price that there was no way this could be real oud/agarwood. The real thing can cost hundreds if not thousands of dollars for this amount. For example, I recently bought some real oud as a reference; even at 5% dilution, it still cost more than this for half the amount (15 ml). I had hoped this might at least be a reasonable facsimile of oud. I already have a couple synthetic ouds from world-famous fragrance suppliers; one smells a lot like the real oud above, and the other has more of the infamous 'barnyard' smell. This smells like none of the above. It has more of a menthol smell that I can't quite place. In all fairness, some types of oud are reported to have this type of top note. I don't care much for it, but whether I use this in my blends remains to be seen. Might try mixing it with my other synthetic ouds to see what I come of up with. At this price, I can afford to experiment quite a lot! — An aside: Once I inserted the reducer into the bottle, the cap no longer fit. Fortunately, I have extra bottle caps sitting around and found one that fits.
