Can this drive be password protected?

On Linux it is very easy to use password protection at the software filesystem level with LUKS. A layer on top of an encrypted virtual filesystem such as gocryptfs, etc. is also an option.

Does this eject from context menu like regular flash drive, or must you use systray?

Acts like typical usb drive for me when I write click within file explorer with eject option.

Does it come formatted?

It did not require formatting when I purchased it to use with an iMac running the Mac OS operating system.
