Digital Meat Thermometer with Probe

Super good. Easy to use. Easy to read. Turns off when you close the probe. Love it.

I love to grill. Now I'm not a BBQ guy with a smoker, doing pork sides for 12 hours, but do consider myself an expert in gas grilling. I can remember standing by the big brick built-in BBQ my dad had at our first house. Must have been 6 or so. I would watch him do half chickens, impatient for the dinner to come. Chicken, sourdough bread and a big salad with Bob's Blue Cheese dressing. Summer days in Southern California were magic in the 60's. Anyway, I have been grilling for decades by time and look. I decided to try grilling by temperature and needed a reliable thermometer. I trust BBQ Dragon and decided to try theirs. Now I don't but cheap meat. I always buy Choice or Prime. When you are spending $10 for a steak, you want it perfect. Plus I don't want to disappoint the hungry throngs that always show up like flies. The first thing I noticed in the thermometer was the long, thing stainless probe. I can use the device without getting my hands to close to the grill. The read is fast and accurate. It folds up nicely so I don't poke myself with the tip. The probe part is nice and thin so I don't get too much bleed out of the meat. Overall, I am very happy with my purchase. I have also found a number of ways to use this inside. I did a 3 bone prime rib and was able to take it to the perfect temperature, allowing for stand time to create the perfect medium rare roast. I even used it to check fruit in my fridge, to compare to the digital settings. Overall, I wish I had purchased earlier. It's now one of my go-to grilling tools. I expect to get years of service from it. Pros: Compact design, thin probe, feels good in your hand. Cons: None yet.

I would have thought a company like bbq dragon would have found an American made product, since their product is American made(probably not anymore) but great quality for the money. What can I say, it works well.

I am going to get right to the point. This thermometer was working really well. I stopped using my other thermometers and this had become my go to unit. It read all my meat temps fairly quickly. The display was easy to read. I actually put this things thru some good paces. I grill quite a bit (minimum of twice a week). Two days ago I went to probe some beef dino ribs and the metal probe came off and stayed lodged in the meat and two wires were exposed from the main unit I purchased it back in February, so it only lasted me 7 months. I am actually really bummed out about this. I am hoping this is a freak incident because I had really liked this thermometer.

I've bought two of these - one for home and one for our lake house.. The first one has worked extremely well for a couple of years so I recently bought the second one. It's accurate and simple to use. I think the best feature is it's waterproof. I don't think I'd throw it in the lake but if you forget to bring it in after grilling it will survive a night outside even if it rains. My previous thermometers were dead if they got wet.

It works pretty good. I’d recommend calibrating before use. It took a few tries to calibrate. Worked well.

There are A TON of meat thermometers out there like this one. I have gone through quite a few. This one has actually exceeded my expectations since I received it. It works exactly as you would expect it to, but I'm so confident that it will last because it comes from BBQ Dragon. I have most of their products and they are ALWAYS top quality. The quality and reliability of their products are what sets this and their other products apart from others. I highly recommend anything from BBQ Dragon!

Accurate thermometer for grilling. I like the push button for illumination. Well priced.
