Updated- Sturdy little tree, great company
Please note that this review is for a tree that was sold by Clifton's Nursery. Any mention of the supplier is only in regard to Clifton's. I don't know how this ended up on a different nursery's item page. Clifton's does not seem to have these trees any longer. Additionally, after about four years, the tree passed during a short (less than thirty miles) move. I moved it myself, handled it gently and, made sure that it was well isolated from the wind and road vibrations. Not sure what happened there and it is a shame, I liked the tree and the foliage though I never really got many lemons from the plant (possibly a result of my location in the northeast and having to keep it indoors for so long each year.)I received the tree about two months ago. Out of the box there were a couple of leaves that didn't survive the packing. In my original review I mentioned this problem and immediately received a message from John Dhanens, the owner and nursery manager of Clifton Farms offering his help to make sure that the tree pulls through and recovers from the trip. After a few weeks of settling in the tree is doing much better now and John sent along another message just to check on the tree and to make sure I was happy with the purchase.I have to say, in this day, this type of customer service and follow up is very rare indeed. I will be sure to tell everyone I know about John and his desire to make things right. In his own words; "Being a little guy, my philosophy is to be in it for the long haul, building long term relationships with customers... Glad to hear the tree is doing better..." Clifton Nursery and John has a new supporter in me. I am very pleased with the whole purchase and follow through.

Nothing like the photo - scrawny and broken
Just received. Scrawny "tree" with one main twig - broken 3/4 the way up - and one small shoot coming off that. Very disappointing. If I live long enough - and if this scrawny tree does - I may see a lemon someday.

Review and Help
If anyone is able to help - it would be much appreciated. I've written the nursery twice to no avail. Here's the issue with the lemon tree:I purchased a Meyer Lemon Tree One Gallon by Monrovia Growers $39.98 tree about two months ago.The plant was doing fine outside. I have since brought the plant in the house and it is not doing well. I did everything I was told to do, plant food, soil, water, not near a vent, mist plant daily, etc., but it is not making a difference. I have the plant by a window with sunlight for most of the day.It gave me one blossom, but it withered and died within 2 days. The other buds have fallen off and leaves are falling off like crazy - new and dead leaves. The tree is almost to just a stick now.I'm at a loss.

Beautiful plant until it died
I loved it until it died but it did bear fruit which I couldn't get it off of the tree.

Cute plant, fragrant flowers - replanted well!
Its not ready to bear fruit yet, and its not the season, so I'll update when its the right season -- but I replanted it in a 5-gallon container and it is very happy. Its bloomed a few times (very fragrant flowers), but the weather in Southern CA has been too insane, so I don't blame her if she doesn't want to bear fruit just yet.. I'm giving her some time, but so far, she's got new growth and did well after replanting (I used 1/2 coco coir and 1/2 compost soil with charcoal sprinkled in).

A Great Little Tree!
Bought this tree as my X-mas present and have nothing but good things to say. It got here (NJ) in about seven days well packed and in pretty good shape. It looked a little sad from the trip and the cold (it was in the 30s that week)and followed the directions that came with it: water, few days latter re-pot, then fertilize and placed it near a window with a SW exposure. About two weeks after it arrieved it started to grow thorns followed by clusters of flower buds...lots of them! It's been about a month and this little champ looks as happy as any tree I've ever had.Awesome buy.

Hopeful then Disappointed
I bought two of the 1-gallon meyer lemon trees in December of 2010 for Christmas. The plants came packaged well which gave me hope. The plant did suffer from some shock, but after following the directions given to me it seemed to spring back. After about 3 weeks of having the tree it suddenly took a turn for the worse and has since died. I followed the directions but the tree never sprouted the entire time I owned it. The second tree that I bought as a gift came with a lemon already growing but not ripe. That tree faired even worse and the lemon never ripened and that tree also died. Perhaps I should have waited to buy the trees in a warmer season, OR, perhaps I should just learn my lesson and not buy trees through the internet.
