Great pen! Writes well!

I just started getting back into fountain pens recently. Previously, I'd only used a different brand's calligraphy pens and while they write well on the first or second use, the ink always dries up since I don't do Calligraphy EVERY day. This one is the least expensive (non-disposable) I've tried by far, and I actually really like it! I've realized I like "wet" fountain pens that put out a lot of ink and this one does not disappoint. The line is nicely bold and the ink doesn't bleed even on cheap notebook paper. I don't mind the smooth grip - another thing I figured out was that with my small hands, I tend to grip the pen closer to the nib than some people might, and I appreciate that there is NOT a ridge on the edge digging into my finger. The nib is also fairly short compared to other pens, which helps with small hands, too. If you're looking for an inexpensive way to get into fountain pens, I highly recommend, but NOTE: this is a medium-point pen, and a lot of the ones for sale here are Fine or Extra Fine nibs, which I've read can be scratchy.

I love the smoothness of the nib. I would not complain about the flow of the ink. However, I could not give it a perfect score, since the cap would break easily. Through every day use, the cap would have lines, and afterwards it would only last me less than a month. I bought this pen to replace the cap of my platinum preppy which fits awesome but it is not sturdy enough as a replacement. But what do I expect for the price?

I bought this pen to experiment with fountain pens for inking art, made me realize I love these things! Fountain pens are super cool, and this one works great! I'm not sure what type of ink came with the cartridge, but it is very water resistant, I was able to brush over it with markers with no streaking or bleeding! Now I use it for just daily writing and journals. I went and bought two more, and a converter for this one.

I converted this to an eyedropper fill right away which gives you tons of ink storage capacity. It came with a cartridge but I saved that for emergency use when traveling.The nib is very smooth. Writes with just the right amount of wetness.Highly recommend as a starter pen - great performance and cheap price! Alternatively, it's a great give away pen as well.

Upon arrival, the pen didn't work. Ink won't flow. Cheap pen.

The platinum preppy pen is a good quality for the prices. The ease in which you can used it and it’s not hard to put in the ink the pen.
