Is the barrel metal (aluminum) or plastic?

The barrel is some non-magnetic metal alloy, probably chrome-plated brass. (Feels too heavy for aluminum.) The clip is steel.

Does the pen lose the paint when scratched? I own the pentel energel allow and the paint started fading and easily scratched

I have had two pens for two years and not had a problem with fading or paint. Just bought three more for stacking stuffers for our kids

How is the clip on this pin? Will it last being in and out of a shirt pocket.

I think it will be OK... but I don't use the clip in a shirt pocket myself.
