Coal Men's The Yukon Chunky Knit Warm Beanie Hat

Coal is my favorite hat. I have a boys hat from 14 years ago. I wanted to have a back up and different color. this is of similar design and made of wool unlike my previous hat. It did shrink which is what I wanted for I have a small head and usually have to buy kids hats. I wish it came over my ears more but I like it. I work in the elements as a letter carrier in New England and it functions well.

I have 3 of these. Love them! The lining keeps the wool from directly touching my skin (and being itchy) and the hat is warm.I will say be careful if you wash it and for sure don't dry it. One of mine shrank when I washed it in cold water and I can't stretch it back out so follow the washing instructions well. I think probably hand washing is better and for sure air dry and stretch it a bit while it's drying. It's wool, so you could also dry clean it. I'm going to try that with one of my other ones.

I like it mostly. It looks cool, it’s warm and comfortable for the most part. However, the outside of the hat rubs the back of my neck a little and that irritates my skin somewhat. When wearing a scarf this really isn’t that much of an issue. But that’s the only reason I have it 4 stars. If your head is larger than mine you’d probably give it 5 stars...and you’d have a pretty big head (just kidding...not kidding).:)

Fits well and keeps me warm in 25° F and above temperatures. The knitting of the wool gives it a nice texture and I like the color and style. There's a soft fleece lining around the bottom inside to keep the wool from getting too scratchy around your forehead and ears. I've only owned it for a week as of the time of this review, so I'm not sure about the durability.

This is my second hat because I lost the first one. Price is a bit high - I found one similar at th max for much cheaper.

This is a good looking, comfortable and very warm beanie. The fleece liner makes it really soft against your skin and it has quickly become my favorite winter hat. Initially snug it does stretch to fit after having worn it for a few days.

It's fairly warm and the inside is soft. I wear it regularly but it's a bit trim on my big head. It definitely isn't long to wrap around your whole head either.

Positives: Good color and stitching pattern - overall, nice looking. Fits true-to-size.Negatives: Arrived with unraveled stitching. The loose piece was easily removed with a scissors, but a disappointing start. No obvious effects after repair. Also, the wool is not so soft, making it slightly abrasive to the ears and head. The internal fleece ring suppresses some of that, but not completely.Bottom line: If I was to have evaluated in a store (and not on-line), I probably would have returned to the rack. It's ok, but one would think you could do better for the price.

This men's beanie is quite a beauty to wear, and is very functional! I managed to bring it for a test run while in Iceland recently for a trip and I can say that as a wool hat it definitely does the job in keeping your head warm and ears protected from any strong winds. Iceland had plenty of both to offer and the hat passed the test personally for me in all aspects. While the wool obvious provides the warmth needed to your head ,the Coal company also has stitched in a liner in the inside to protect your ears.I also found that my head wasn't itchy from wearing the hat (something that can happen with cheap wool products), and there was no shedding either leftover. Would definitely buy another one if I ever have to!
