I first read this book in the early 90's. I was not a reader before this book. I had not experienced a book like this one that had me so involved with the characters and the mind-boggling thought could this really happen. I have come to relish the time I make to read. Much credit is given to this book. In recent years this book has cone to mind many times so I considered rereading it. It's the first book I have ever re-read and I enjoyed it just as much as I did 30 years ago.

A thrilling read; this book is a real eye-opener! When one does their research, one well find that there is more truth than fiction to this piece.

Mr. Burkett had written an amazing story of fiction that seems a little too real these days. Great character development and overall just a good read.

I picked up the paperback because I thought it was going to be about the Illuminati. Instead, I got a rollicking, if contrived, story of the Anti-Christ heading a select group of worldwide movers and shakers in order to bring about the last times.The characters are so two-dimensional that they actually disappear when you turn the page (may not apply to e-book readers). The dialogue is so stilted, the circus offered it a job. Most amusingly, the technical sections covering computer programming read as if the author found a few basic coding terms in a leaflet and randomly sprinkled them on the page like so many grains of salt.Which is exactly how any reader should take this book.Nevertheless, I gave it four stars because of the pure entertainment factor.

The Illuminati is hands down the most exceptional Christian novel I have ever read. Frightening in how, as believers, we must believe that one day this novel will be closer to a history book than a novel.(Except that we will not have a Jeff Wells to help us.There is a sequel to this book called “The Thor Conspiracy” that is almost as good as this one. As readers we lost an amazing writer when we lost Larry Burkett. He had amazing and I would say God given insight to what the Bible teaches us!

I know this is presented as a work of fiction, but it's very believable; the author has done his research and background work. For something written so long ago, I have to say that many of what he predicted for the future years was right on target. Great read!
