Sarge's Pancake Black Welding Hood Helmet Right Handed Regular Pipeline OSHA Approved (Right Hand, Brown)

I may not be the best reviewer for this product. I am a pancake newbie since going totally mobile. I really like the concept and I’m finally used to not trying to flip my helmet down anymore. That was awkward. I guess there are lighter brands but I find this helmet plenty light.The good: Fits my Miller auto shade plus plastic and cheater lens, although quite tight.Works absolutely awesome outdoors. I couldn’t possibly go back to a traditional helmet. I’m not a pipe liner so I don’t fry my helmet face like a busy pro pipe liner might.The bad: Maybe upgrade the strap. Not the highest quality and slips off its screw mount occasionally. Apparently a few different people make them.When you first get this in your hand it’s hard to believe you paid over $100 for it. It looks like something you could slap together at home in a couple hours, BUT who’s actually going to?Getting a custom fit to your face can really take some time. I feel like I’m constantly working on it. I wish I had a porcelain mold of my face to test fit it on LOL!Would I buy again? DEFINITELY.

My freshman son loves to weld! This was a perfect addition to his growing needs to be successful at welding today and his future. Good quality. Love that it came from a small business!

Love the fit of the eye box on this after sanding. Great for welding in direct sun

I bought a welding table and have overhead lights in my shop so I was getting a ton of backlight when using a normal flip-down hood. I'd seen these in an Austin Ross YouTube video and figured I'd try it out. I've put a 4x2 auto-darkening lens in it and I love it! The only bad part is that if you bump into something with it on, you have a chance at giving yourself a black eye. Don't ask me how I know that. After a while, you forget how bad it hurts your face and you just roll with it.

First time get one. Easy to fit with provided sand paper, great for working in the sun even with the umbrella find it works great with auto darkening and fixed shades but am getting a flip up for the gringing.

Love the hood just fills kinda flimsy so I baby it. And some of the screws were loose and not drilled flat bud it does the job

Very displeased with the condition of this new welding hood. Has very large scratches all across the face. Looks like it has been used to sweep a shop floor and is supposed to be brand new. Will be returning.
