Excellent Pens
I have used these pens for many years now and they are the best for my needs. I enjoy writing letters and notes to family and friends and there are no ink blots that I used to get from other pens. I also do word searches in books and these Uniball Vision pens are great for this. They are comfortable to hold.

Good Pen, Blue Mystery!
This Uni-Ball product is a good, serviceable office pen. The ink flows smoothly and retains a deep, rich color that verges on cobalt blue. The line is a little thicker than a razor point but useful for many purposes, and the ink lasts a long time. In fact, ink chemistry has advanced so far that pens seem to last forever. Amazing. It is still preferable to sign originals of important letters, documents and other legal papers in blue ink so you can always distinguish them from copies. And some people simply prefer blue to black. But none of that accounts for a mystery about blue ink pens. A set of eight jewel-colored pens from the same company costs $12.08, while this package of five pens costs $12.49. Doesn’t make sense, does it? You would think that a set of pens of different colors would cost more. And that is true not only of this brand but also of the Pilot Razor point pens I usually order and generally prefer. (For some reason, Uni-ball pens are more expensive than the Pilot Razor Point, which may run out of ink a little sooner. I am testing that theory.) Maybe there is a blue ink conspiracy? Maybe the Forces of Black Ink are depressing the supply? One of life’s mysteries to ponder.

Great Pens
My favorite pens that write easily with a good balance between ink quality and ease of writing and sturdy hold.

My Favorite Pens
These are my favorite pens. They are the perfect color, they write smoothly, but with enough friction (the friction of the pen on paper affects the quality of my handwriting, and these are perfect). A reasonable price and the pens individually last a long time (a single pen lasted me almost a whole semester of notetaking). They don't smudge. Ink sometimes accumulates around the tip, but it doesn't affect the writing. Sometimes the side of the pen gets scratched off a little bit, but for a disposable pen, that doesn't bother me.

The best rollerball I’ve used.
This has become my go to disposable pen. It’s always super smooth until it runs out. Has nice feel and the blue is opaque and bright. The Pilot V7 is the black pen I would recommend too.
