Crucial 8GB Single DDR3/DDR3L 1600 MT/S (PC3-12800) Unbuffered SODIMM 204-Pin Memory - CT102464BF160B

My Dell Inspiron 3542 which I got in 2015 with i3 4th gen, 4gb ddr3l ram, and 1TB HDD @5400rpm in it, on which I installed win 10 pro, was damn slow. It took almost 3-5 mins to boot up completely. Programs were very slow most of the time, and often got hanged or not responding. I got irritated by the sluggish performance and initially thought of going for a new pc with i5/i7 atleast 8th gen with 8gb ram, but they weren't in my budget currently due to other high expenditures in the past couple of months. Hence, I considered upgrading my lappy with this ram and also a Samsung Evo 860 256gb SSD. The peformance after the upgrade was astounding and way beyond my expectations. I was more than happy as every penny I spent was truly worth it. I just spent merely 5500/- in total and rescued myself of spending a hefty amount for upgrading to a new pc. Now this machine works like a charm. Its superfast, takes almost 3-5 sec to boot, 1-2 sec to shutdown. Applications launch superfast, no delay in response, or hanging of apps, even with multiple apps, and multiple windows & tabs in browsers opened up simultaneously.

The RAM is good, period. The moment I installed it, my laptop PC got boosted. I have used Corsair RAMs in past for my desktop PCs, and when it was time to upgrade my laptop memory, it was inclined to Corsair, but it was not coming into my budget. Then this RAM pops up in suggestions, and when I compare it with Corsair, it matched almost every specs listed, if not exceed. And here it is running in my laptop PC for the last 4 days. I use HP Probook with core i5 (6th Gen). It is mainly used for MS Office and Adobe Lightroom. And hence, 8 GB is sufficient for the tasks, and more. Go for this memory set, blindly. It will not disappoint in any manner.

Just a disclaimer before I start the review, this is exclusively a product review. The seller was awesome but I have a few points to highlight about the product itself: The biggest con in my opinion is the warranty, or rather the lack of it. Cruical's website specifies a 'lifetime warranty', but when we buy this online in India, we effectively have no warranty. Crucial doesn't have any service centers here and their warranty clause specifically states that we need to work with the dealer in order to initiate any RMA process. Now, the seller states here that there is no warranty and therefore all we have is the Amazon 10 day return window. I did some research and it's a similar situation with other manufacturers. There is a chance of getting warranty if we buy Kingston RAM from their authorized dealer offline though. So I decided to extensively test the module to detect any problems within the 10 day window. 1. The product is genuine, I verified the serial numbers with the Crucial customer care. 2. The RAM had 0 data errors. This is what I expected and it was tested using memtest86. A full suit of test were run 8 times over a period of ~ 20 hours. Then an additional set of random pattern inversion tests (#5, #8, #9) were run 8 times over a period of 8 hours. No error was detected, so I think it's good.

Model : HP 15-ac179TX I started feeling a noticeable lag on my laptop (which is almost 10 year old at this point) which was affecting my work and I’m not ready to upgrade yet so i was looking for options and found this particular crucial model as the perfect upgrade (after doing a lot of research). I have now added 16GB or (8GB*2) of memory along with 1TB of Crucial MX500 SATA SSD and it has made an immediate difference. Definitely recommended if you are looking for an upgrade without actually upgrading your current one.

Just got the product today was really happy. the product was wrapped with bubble wrap under plastic case. i installed ram in my dell inspiron 5559 laptop. After the installation my laptop did not started. It stuck in black screen & laptop charging indicator started gonna blink in white & orange light. I think its fault one product. when i put my old ram in laptop it started working. I’m gonna return this crucial ram to seller & will ask for replacement. 13/05/2024 Will update my feedback & rating after placement. Update - 15/05/2024 Today morning again i tried to installation the ram. I read somewhere that i have to remove my cmos battery for sometime. I did that it worked. Ram is working now. I’m confused now should i return or not? Let’s see i will use it for 2-3 days. If i face any issue i will return this. The product is good. It increased my laptop speed. Now my photoshop is running very smoothly. Changing rating 1 star to 5 star. Thanks. Update - 24/05/2024 RAM is working fine so far. no issues found. Guys if you want to purchase it you can go for it. But i will suggest you should prefer for shop visit rather than online. Because if you got any faulty product you’ll find difficulty for replacement. Even amazon company will not support you in this case. Update- 28/6/24 Guys the RAM is stopped working. My laptop is not getting boot with this RAM. Whenever i try to on my laptop its showing white & orange light blinking. Causing same issue again which was stated in starting time. Don’t buy this RAM.

Bought this Ram for Upgrading my HP-15 G009AX AMD A8 laptop from 4 GB to 8 GB. The laptop had only one ram slot so I had to take out the 4gb one and replace it with this Ram and it works perfectly. Post installation I ran the windows memory test and its passed without any errors. Anyone with same laptop as mine, be aware you will have to take out your Mother Board to install the Ram. Delivery was very quick I got the product in 2 days. Cost of this Ram was lowest among all online stores so cheers to Amazon! I know most people would know this but for folks who are new to Ram upgrades; google "Crucials Systesm Scan" it will tell you how many slots your laptop has, Maximum supported Ram by your system and it will give you some compatible Crucial Ram suggestions. Then by looking into the specifications of the suggested rams you can search online stores for ram with similar specs from other manufactures aswell.

Delivery: I got the product in the exact mentioned date of delivery. It was packed in a big pouch with small air bubbles and it is more easily susceptible to damage during transit if the handlers do not know how to handle this sensitive computer component. Coming to the product: I could see few scratches on the chips in the RAM but it looked new and matched with the product mentioned in the Amazon page. The installation was easy. I switched on the laptop and it was on and I could hear the fan running. But there was nothing on screen. I tried to fit it again properly, also switched the RAM slots, and tried it as solo unit. I had the same problem. I tried it with my office laptop too. Same methods and same results. Simply put, the RAM module was faulty and I got it confirmed with Crucial Support. Ordered a replacement and hoping it would work. I will update the reviews accordingly. Note: My laptop is a Toshiba S50-A and office laptop is a Dell Latitude E5450. I ran Crucial India Memory Suggestion tool and came to this product. So the RAM is compatible with both laptops as per Crucial. 12/11/2018 Update: Received a Replacement RAM Got the RAM in same packaging and gave poor delivery feedback for packaging in both the main and replacement orders. Installed the RAM in my Toshiba and it works now. I get all of the 12 GB which reaffirms that the previous one was indeed a faulty RAM module. I could see considerable improvements in my laptop's speed though the older HDD is slowing it down. Probably I should replace it with an SSD. That's for another day. I gave only 3 stars for the replacement as I am yet to do the memtest86. I am planning to do the test to find if there is any defect in the module and will update the review accordingly. I am hoping it does well in the test. 15/11/2018 Update: Finished with the Memtest86 Ran the memtest86 for more than 2 hours and got 2 Pass results. I did not want to stress the module any further and stopped the test. I am changing the rating to 5 stars. I will keep update as the usage goes on.

It is nicely working till now. i like its Speed, Multitasking and value for money.
