Best fan on the market!
I installed this fan on my 97 2.5l tj.The kit does come with everything needed to install it although I did use some extra parts to secure the wires and hide them a bit better.First off the passenger side lower bracket does need to be hogged out a bit to line up with the bolt hole in the radiator like others have said. The kit comes with a 50amp breaker which I mounted next to the air box on the fender inner structure. Make sure you read the markings on it one side is marked battery and the other aux(fan side). The relay has 2 wires comming off of the one terminal one goes to the thermostatic switch which is installed between the thermostat housing and the original coolant temp sensor. The other wire is a green wire with a diode in it that gets connected to the power 12v wire of the ac compressor which turns the fan on when the compressor turns on. The other wire from the thermastic sqitch goes to switched 12v. This wire I ran from the switch to the under hood fuse box next to the battery. I pulled the fuse box out and removed the bottom half and taped into the red black wire going to the rear window defroster relay which was at the front of the box and not being used. I mounted the new fan relay to the side of the air box as this was the only spot the wires would reach.I would suggest spending some time and soldering and shrink tubing all connections as the supplies butt connectors aren't vibration and water resistant and will probably come apart at a bad time. As for the 2 brackets that come with it, they fit perfectly and mounted my ps res and coolant res in the stock locations. This fan is a direct bolt in and can be installed with the supplied parts but do it right and solder and secure all wires.

Excellent Upgrade
I just installed this on my 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ.1) Fan is quiet2) supplied hardware is good, except I upgraded the shroud bracket hardware to stainless steel bolts (looks better)3) Shroud assembly with flawless powder coat finish is superior to other products on the market.4) Fan has a guard (some other fans on the market don't)5) Engine temp hovers around 205F6) Thermostat arrangement is far superior to capillary probes seen on other products.7) fits like a glove.8) moves A LOT of air. (you can feel the air flowing INTO the grill from the front of the vehicle)Wiring arrangement allows for further customization like manual on/off, air cond. on connection etc.I highly recommend this product as an upgrade to any Jeep TJ. You will notice a definite power increase in the sense of "get-up-and-go". I will be interested if I gain any MPG ...UPDATE: Spring 2015. I am on my THIRD fan. The fans fail about once a year. (once they are out of warranty) also, the power draw is high, I had to upgrade to a Heavy Duty 35amp cole-herse constant duty relay and maxi-fuse. I burnt original wires/fuses constantly. If you are handy with electrical stuff I still recommend the unit because of the shroud/brackets and thermostat set up, but beware of potential problems with wiring and fan failures! (Also, Derale does NOT make the actual fan. It is manufactured by someone else)

Not for me. but i tried it.
looks and works great! The green wire for me was a tough one. But after getting it all is good.8/19/2020 I Have a issue with it. It is running hotter than before and it has over heated on me... So i dont think this fan is meant for the Arizona heat. I have removed it and installed my factory fan back on and all is back to normal. This fan should cool the same or better then the factory one but it is not.

Wow! What a fan! 1990 Jeep Wrangler 2.5 Liter
The media could not be loaded. Great fan, very easy install if you know basic wiring. Even if you don’t, they provide detailed instructions on how to install, and provide everything needed. Two little problems I had. The bottom right bracket needed raised just slightly. If you’re capable of installing this fan then you’re capable of doing a quick measurement and punching out a couple new holes on the fan housing. Not a big deal. The other more significant problem that I had was that the fan switch and my aftermarket coolant sensor were touching in the adapter housing. Screwing the jeep sensor in broke the fan switch. A quick call to Derale customer support and they shipped out a new adapter on the same day with a special switch specific to my jeep. That kind of customer service alone is worth 5 stars! For the time being I just turned the fan on manually using a toggle switch. The video says it all. Now that everything is wired up properly, it kicks on a little above the 210 mark, and brings it down to about 185, right in the range where my jeep is designed to run. I don’t know the exact speed but the CFM is ridiculous. Also lost about 6lbs getting rid of the stock fan setup, as well as gaining back the force from the pulley that drove the fan. All-in-all I couldn’t be happier with my purchase!Total stars for product and customer service? 10!

simple install, everything fit well
My 13 year old son did the physical install and it went great while I did the electrical wiring. The only hang up was that we were unable to install the new electric thermostat without removing the thermostat housing. That was ok because I was already planning to replace the mechanical Thermostat and so I had a new gasket. If I hadn't had that gasket already I would have had to make a trip to the parts house for one and would have been very upset that I couldn't have finished the install until going to town the next day.So plan on a thermostat housing gasket if you are installing on a 2001 4.0 Wrangler and it will be a great install.
