I cannot being to explain how terrific this beach in a durable sturdy box really makes me and my friend very happy. In the above pics you will see I added three sandcastles, three seagulls and two white starfish of my own. The little bag of shells is awesome and cute. After I examined the well made wood, I opened the sand and poured it in...OHHHH.... I CLOSED MY EYES....felt the sand, soft, coolness, texture of real beach sand and I was immediately relaxed and smiling. There is no downside to this at all. I read that someone said there is no lid....That is not exactly true! When you take the cellophane off you have a very sturdy lid that had the beach stuff in it. Anyway, I kept the lid that sits right on top of the beach wood perfectly. Then when I transport it, all I do is put the lid on top, of course I close the umbrella and lay down the chair and then I secure it with two rubber bands and I’m good to go. Also, if you needed to securely raise your beach to play, then simply turn the box over and the zen fits securely into the grooves of the box!! Awesome desk / table top novelty decoration. This miniature beach in a box looks fantastic. Everything is just almost perfectly scaled. The timber box to hold the ' beach ' is nice and solid to touch as real wood should be and blends in well with both the ' beach ' and other wood furniture like my desk which is also natural hardwood. All the little beach items are well made and painted just right. The chair is a glossy vibrant white under day light and fades into the background just enough in a dimly lit night time environment. The umbrella top has real fabric that is soft to touch yet with a firm texture one would expect from a ' beach ' umbrella for ' outdoors ' . Both chair and umbrella appear crafted from some kind of wood and not plastic. Chair is quite solid to touch. Bucket and spade / shovel are just the right proportions, not too small, not too large. Also painted well. Bright colours. All the tiny sea shells looks great and very close to the real thing. The sand is real and looks great, more than enough in the bag to easily fill the box about half way. The starfish is okay, depends on what you expect from such a creature. The sandcastle could be a little bigger and mine has a light blue-ish uneven tint across it for some reason. Should be sandy coloured for best effect or even just plain white. All up, a delightful ' little world in a box ' type gift you will enjoy looking at every day once everything is setup and the sand raked to your liking.

Bought this as a gift for a friend who. like myself, LOVES the beach and looks forward to vacation each year. She had a much larger reaction over this gift than I expected, which was great :) Well made/constructed, cute accessories, and a great conversation piece in the office. My husband even commented that it looks even better in person than in the picture. Seller was great and I would purchase again!

I keep this on my desk at work and a lot of people come in and out of my office. Usually the first thing people do when sitting down is start raking the sand and arranging things. I added some Easter Island heads to mine, so there is some customization ability. I bought one for my boss for Boss' day as well, since he was always playing with it. When you play with the sand, it takes your mind off work and it has a stress relief property. The only slight down-side to this toy is that the sand can get out of the tray and make your desk a little gritty if not careful.

This is SO cute. I got it for my 10 year old son for his birthday because he’s a fidgeter and though he would like to shovel and play in the sand. It’s also just so stinking adorable! Maybe I didn’t read the description all that well, but I was really surprised by how many little things it came with! So many seashells!! He loves burying them in the sand and then finding them all and putting them in the little bucket. Seriously keeps him entertained for so long, lol! The sand is super fine and pretty soothing to rake, I have to admit.

Purchased this to use for mental breaks at the office. I recently returned from a beach vacation and brought home some sand and seashells as a momento. This item is perfect as a display in my office and I use it several times a day when I need a break from my screen or want to escape to the sea (especially since I am in a landlocked state). I highly recommend this product for any beach lover. (I did not use the sand, seashells or sandcastle that were included. I printed a water theme photo that I saw from another review).

Bought this as a birthday gift for a crafty & creative pre-teen girl. She loved it so much! Has spend hours playing with it. Very relaxing too! Her older siblings loved it so much, that 2 more were purchased so they can each have their own. Great gift for older kids and adults!

I keep this on my desk and it’s a nice distraction when I’m on a long meeting or I am just wishing I was at the beach instead of work. Cute little shovel with pail and rake - good amount of sand.
