Well thought out and well executed
This type of product isn't a necessity, but more of a quality of life purchase. I don't think everyone needs something like this, but here's some thoughts I can share if you're thinking about this type of product.I've bought two of this specific lap desk. Before I bought the first one, I had a cheap plastic lap desk with beanbag padding. A year of having it, the padding on the bottom was flat in places and it was impossible to keep it well distributed. It had a lip to hold the laptop edge, but macbooks slid over it's curved edges sometimes at odd angles. Overall I got my use out of that and enjoyed using it at first when it was fresh and I could work from any room in the house. I work from home via internet. So I bought this bamboo lap desk to replace that old beat up one in December of 2019. I moved the following February and lost my first one and bought a second one because I liked it.The bamboo surface is a bit roughed out. It's not smooth, but it's not scratchy. It's been sanded to some degree. The friction from the roughness helps a lot with keeping laptops still. I liked this compared to my first lap desk which had a slippery top. It was fine for laptops with rubber feet, but not macbooks. The ledge thing that prevents the laptop from sliding in towards you is great on this. It's got squared edges, so the laptop can't wedge up and slide forward. The bottom is foam. It's comfortable. I don't know what the foam situation looks like on the inside, I'll provide an update next year. The bottom pull out part makes this very easy to use while sitting on a floor. It adds stability when sitting with crossed legs for example. It's just a flap with foam in it.One thing I don't like is that the foam under the tablet/pencil holder is hallowed out. Seems like they might bind the foam to the bamboo in manufacturing before they cut out the hole for the plastic insert. Instead of just cutting the bamboo the foam under it is cut. This does affect front right hand foam's structural integrity. I imagine if there's any problems, that area would be the first place problems arise.Overall, this was a good purchase in my opinion. It just depends on if you would actually use it.

Better than expected
I have been working from the couch the past couple months due to an injury. After realizing I couldn't go any further with a pillow as my computer support, I found this lap desktop. After reviewing several, I landed on this one. It's large enough to hold my 15 inch computer (or 16 inch). The wood block/stopper on the bottom keeps the laptop from slipping down and I'm not getting super hot with heat from the computer transferring through the materials (like on a pillow). And it's been very sturdy and not sitting lopsided or tilting like a pillow would do.The bottom cushion is sturdy enough to not lose shape, but soft enough to be comfortable. I also love the handle as it makes for an easy grab and lift if I am sitting down.All-in-all, from just using this for one day...I highly recommend.

Perfect and loving it.
Some small flaws. Not a big deal because it’s an awesome and comfortable

Nice size for really working on it.
This is a high quality lap desk. Really nice wood top and an upholstery type fabric covered cushion on the bottom. It's very comfortable in my lap. I can put my book, writing pad and my arm on the top when I'm working. It is very sturdy and really can hold my phone in the slot in top. There is a pencil stop across the bottom, but it doesn't go all the way across so it didn't interfere with my handwriting at all. Great purchase.

Solid and comfortable construction, though the phone & stylus slots don't work well.
The padding is firm and comfortable, and the fold-out riser to put the surface on your lap at an angle works much better than I thought it would. When folded out it is held in place by two elastic bands slipped over buttons, very useful design. I also like that it has a carrying strap, and the elastic band across the upper corner is useful for keeping papers and small items in place. The one problem this lap-desk has is a design flaw for the built-in phone and stylus stands. They are not angled back and only about a centimeter deep. Combined, this means that a phone or tablet placed in the slot tends to flop forward instead of standing up at an angle where it can be viewed. There is a round hole to place your stylus in also, like an inkwell, but it is no deeper and cannot hold a stylus upright at all well. These aren't really problems, and deeper wells would be problematic for the padding, but an angled slot would have been an improvement.

Great lap desk except for ledge
Overall the bamboo and cushion texture feels great. Handling and weight is also good for the size. The one main critical problem is the ledge as IMO it’s too high. Laptops nowadays are much thinner so there’s really no need for such a high ledge to keep it from slipping. I have big hands and the ledge tends to get in the way when I use the touchpad. Finally when I go to close the laptop, if the upper lip is taller, it’ll end up hitting the ledge (this last one is laptop specific).Definitely if the ledge was half the height, this product would be more comfortable. Also the ledge needs to be rounded all around as the front/back portions of the ledge is what you rest your palms on.Obviously I know we can use this backwards (with the ledge on top) but the angle would be off. Strangely one of the product pictures shows someone using the product this way.
