This switch replaced the original switch that I fitted to the alarm box many years ago when it was first installed. Fair Warning: Spare keys are always the shortcoming of these locks. One cannot find them or have them made anywhere, in my experience.

This is a simple on-off switch operated by a tubular key. It has solder pot terminals, so soldering is required to use this. The key springs out of the lock so it cannot reliably be left in. The keys fit well and operation is reliable. A large brass-colored nut holds the key barrel into a 3/4 inch diameter hole. Two small flats are provide on the barrel to prevent spinning when operating the key.If you are mounting in a wood panel or box, bore the 3/4 inch hole then glue two 1/16-inch thick by 5/16-inch wide by about 5/8 inch long strips, one on each side of the inside of the hole. Cyanoacrylate glue works well.

Bought this to build a multi-station model rocket launcher for my kids cub scout pack. This was the master safety/arm switch that I used to cut control power to the relays that supplied power to each station. My only complaint is that the key is not retained in the on position. I thought when I bought it that this model retained the key in the on position, but it does not and it has a tendency to want to pop out, so make sure you don't loose it.

Got this to instal on a DIY ammo can radio to replace a toggle power switch. The low profile of the switch was ideal and it works great.

Used this to replace the giant ignition on my 1980 motorcycle. Worked like a charm. New ignition is nice and small, easy to hide. Keys feel a little bit cheap, but I think they will be ok.
