My cat prefers to hide this toy in a large paper bag and, from time to time, pounce on it and get excited by the chattering noises it makes Occasionally she'll pick it up and give it a bit of a kicking. Not her favourite toy, but one that she enjoys from time to time.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have a 10.5-year-old male cat and a 7-year-old female, (both ‘rescues’). Over the years, they've received a rather large collection of toys. They have a toy box upstairs and down, which hold their collection whenever I gather them up while cleaning the house. I first bought the SmartyKat Chit Chatter toy about 2 or 3 years ago and it was immediately obvious that my female cat loved it! Over the years, of all the toys she has and plays with, the SmartyKat Chit Chatter (with what looks to me like a “blue mustache”), is the one toy she ALWAYS carries over to me when she wants to play! Seriously! Anyway, I noticed that even though her favorite toy still chatters, it was showing signs of being well-used. So, a week ago, I bought a flurry of new toys for the two of them. But I had forgotten the name of the toy that my female cat loved so much. My search through the list of my Amazon previously purchased cat toys didn’t help because many of the items didn’t have any pictures. I spent almost an hour going through page after page of cat toys in Amazon as I searched for that "blue-mustached ball". Then, when I was about to give up, I found it!! I was very happy that I made the extra effort because when all their new toys in the Amazon order arrived, it wasn’t long before I felt (and heard) a toy bounce off my foot! Yes, my female was now bringing the new "blue-mustached ball" to me to play! I know cats tend to have their personal preferences for everything from food, to beds, to toys and more, so I can’t guarantee that your cat will love this toy as much as mine does. But at under $7.00, it’s well worth spending for your cat! I strongly recommend it and as I mentioned earlier, the chatter-box in the first one that I bought 3 years ago is still working perfectly. It’s safe to say that the sound the toy makes will last as long as the toy’s construction, if not longer! 5-STARS ALL THE WAY!

Your cats will love this toy!! They will love it so much that you will hear the chirp constantly. When the cats aren't playing with the toy, it will, somehow, be everywhere you go. Your foot will graze it slightly and it will chirp. The wind will blow inside, with the windows shut, and it will chirp. This is the cat toy equivalent of your child bringing a recorder home from school. It is very good at its job. 4 stars because the cats love it. -1 star because I may go insane.

My puppy fell in love with this cat toy while I was out of town and when I returned home it had already become his favorite. I tried to leave it at our friend's house but sure enough, it found its way to our home. The chirping makes me want to throw this toy into a volcano but the joy it brings to my doodle's face is worth the hours of suffering. This is an occasional toy, but when I bring it out, he lights up and gets so excited and will carry it around for as long as you let him. My friend couldn't remember where she found it or anything else about this toy so I was starting to get worried about the battery life (we got the original one-second hand) and if I would be able to replace it. Luckily after months of searching, I found it! We are about to make an international move so I needed to stock up just in case. His reaction was priceless. We did NOT pull the tabs on all of them at once but he was waiting for them all the start chirping. This toy is proof a mother's love will endure anything.

This is so fun! My cat is SO picky, and out of probably thousands of dollars I've spent on toys for her, THIS is the absolute best money spent hands down!
