Lab Sheet Annotations and Mathematics for the Primary Teacher (Miquon Math Lab Materials:)

Some of the worksheets have no advice in the teacher manual, so if it isn't obvious to you what they should do you are out of luck. Usually these are fairly obvious, but not always.I decided to get other manipulatives, and that makes things a fair bit more work for me. I didn't like that this math teaches the kids to memorize colors as quantities, and it's hard to tell how many a stick is unless you have other sticks to compare to. So I bought some that have clear division marks on them. The workbooks and teacher guide are really geared toward those specific manipulatives though, be warned.

I am a former public school teacher . . . this is interesting to teach - I have used it two years in home school situation with two children - my granddaughter now finishing 2nd grade and the 3rd (blue) book and my just turned five year old grandson in the 1st (orange) book. Fun to teach . . . kids love the "hands on" approach . . . concepts are grouped so children get a feel for the relationships between numbers . . . then they are asked to "make up a problem of your own." Wonderful!!

We are are homeschooling family using Miquon Math in combination with Primary Mathematics (Singapore Math). This book gives all the useful background information I need to help me make sure my kids really grasp the concepts of the Miquon sheets. The hands-on cuisenaire rods approach of this program is a wonderful addition to the more mental Singapore books and has been fun for my K-1 child. I would recommend this program whole-heartedly to supplement another program or, with a little work, even as a stand-alone curriculum.

The Miquon Lab Sheet Annotations are an absolute must-have alongside the Miquon Math series. Without the annotations, it would have been quite challenging for me to figure out what to do. I am a teacher (whose strong suit is not math) and am fortunate to have to the lab sheet annotations as my guide. I also purchased the First Grade Diary and Cuisenaire Rods to further compliment the series.

This product is for all Miquon math lab books. After reviewing it and using it for Kindergarten, I didn't feel it was a necessity because it didn't give me any additional information that I couldn't figure out on my own. The Miquon series is not my style.

Has everything you need for an overview of Miquon Math. Larger book than I was expecting... has reduced version of every page in the entire 6 book series of student lab sheets.

Love this curriculum and highly recommend Miquon to those needing a slightly different approach to teaching math.

More for a classroom application than homeschool setting. Well written.
