Barmah Crackle-Roo
My first kangaroo hat & I am impressed. The Barmah Crackle-Roo was well-packaged & arrived next day. I appreciated the presentation & the Roo skin kangaroo cutout is a nice touch. Kangaroo leather is thin, light, durable, & weather resistant. Out of the box it presents with a crackled/spotted appearance. The two-tone leather "Cooper Crossing" band looks sharp & is securely sewn in place. The materials & workmanship are first rate. The hat itself is extremely light & comfortable. It can be crushed or folded & stored into the included travel pouch. Also included is a removable & adjustable chin-strap along with sizing kit should the hat be too large. The XL fits my 23" shaved skull perfectly. The brim is wire-reinforced to maintain its shape & the hat pops right back into shape when unfolded. I generally do not fold my hats. While this hat is squishy enough that I felt comfortable giving it a test fold, I would not suggest leaving it folded for extended periods, particularly if stored in a hot environment like a car interior. I store mine sitting flat on the brim or on a hat stand. If you were to leave it sitting on the crown in a hot vehicle the crown shape may be negatively impacted. This hat is designed to look weathered when new. Upon receipt I immediately treated mine with a couple of leather wipes. The treatment solidifies the color into a nice deep brown & you will notice the "crackled" appearance displayed straight out of the box is gone in the subsequent photos. An occasional treatment of leather conditioner or oil should keep it looking sharp & help maintain its water resistance. This is one of my favorite hats to date. It is super comfortable. I love the rugged appearance, & the ladies seem to like it too. I like the Crackle-Roo so much that I have ordered Barmah's Black Sundowner Kangaroo hat as well. Grab one for yourself & start your own adventure!

Beautful, durable, light weight, comfortable
This is a wonderful hat, I've had mine for several ears, this purchase was actually for a friend who wanted one too. I also got one for my daughter a few years ago and she loves it. My hat has held up to many hikes and even being accidentally fully submerged in the lake while I was as well, it managed to stay on my head. I love this hat. My daughter and I get many compliments when we wear our hats, and it's fun to be wearing matching hats. I'm sure Barmah's other hats are just as awesome, but this one is my favorite. Fits well and is quite comfortable. Besides just plain being a cool hat, it is a high quality hat as well. Well worth every dollar. I had the canvas version of the same style (also by Barmah) for a good 12 or so years and I'm sure whomever has it now is enjoying it immensely. It was either lost or stolen. But I like the kangaroo one even better. I highly recommend any Barmah hat to anyone that wants an affordable and quality hat. You may prefer another style, or this one, either way, I'm sure you'll be happy with it so long as you choose a style that you enjoy wearing.

Fabulous hat that is great for travel
Oh my goodness I love this hat. I travel a lot and spend most of my time in outdoor activities so I need a hat that is durable, packable, and provides good sun protection. I looked for something appropriate for years but basically found practical hats that were ugly and nice looking hats that couldn't stand up to packing and abuse. Then I took a trip to Australia and was intrigued when I saw people wearing these hats in the Outback. I found one in a store in Australia and loved it so much I ordered a second one from Amazon when I was back home. These hats are super practical. The leather is thin and durable and the hats look good. They stand up well to weather and abuse and pack flat. They come with a sizing band, although mine fit snugly out of the box so I did not use the band. Because of the wide brim it might be worth getting a chin strap if you will be wearing it in very windy conditions. I have worn my original Barmah hat through all kinds of conditions and it just takes everything. One note about cleaning it. I clean it in water per the instructions when it gets dirty or out of shape. However, the instructions say to dry it over a bowl to regain its shape. I find it works even better to stuff the hat with a crumpled up towel and then remove the towel when it is mostly dry. This seems to work better for restoring the crown to its original shape.

Great, hat. Very comfortable with attractive styling
The Barmah hats are well made and look great. This model has a low-height crown, making it a great choice for someone with a long, thin face. But it's a style that works with many face shapes. The kangaroo leather is very soft. It's thin and supple, but strong, making the hat fairly light (a plus in my book). The fit is fantastic, neither too tight nor too loose. I measured my head and made sure I was ordering the corresponding size recommended by Barmah. The suppleness of the leather allows the hat to conform to your head. It stays on securely without being tight or having the pressure points that are found in stiffer hats I've had. There are only two minor complaints about the hat. First, it arrives folded, and there is a somewhat persistent crease running front to back on the crown (not the brim). I think this will eventually work itself out if the hat is left unfolded, rather than stuffed away in it's carry bag. The second complaint has to do with the combination of the light leather, and the wire around the outside of the brim to help the brim keep its shape. Sudden movements cause the front of the brim to vibrate and oscillate a little. This is noticeable in my field of vision and creates a distraction when you first wear the hat. I'll get use to it, but it's a difference from other, stiffer hats. Overall, I'm quite pleased with this hat and very happy with the purchase. It will get a lot of use.

Awesome Hat
I bought the Barmah Canvas Drover hat around six months ago in Large and it was a little loose on me but not to bad. I wanted a Leather hat like the Drover hat so I ordered this one in Medium thinking it would be just right, I got it around one week after ordering it and tried it on and it was to small. It was pretty tight on my head and I was sure it would not stretch out over time, So I got the return RMA number from Amazon and returned it and got the hat replaced with a Large hat. The Large hat was a little smaller fitting than the Large Canvas Drover hat but it fit me perfectly. I really like this hat, It feels really nice wearing it and the construction is first class. Update: I have been wearing this hat for two months now and absolutely love it, Never going back to a base ball hat. It is the most comfortable hat I have ever worn and it looks fabulous. The build is first rate.

Product Description Is Incorrect and Amazon Service Quality is Bad
Product description reads, "Includes FREE Removable Chin Cord, FREE Hat Sizing Kit, and FREE Hat Bag," but mine did not include any of that. It came in what appears to be a t-shirt bag. The hat quality itself is very good. It fits well, is made of kangaroo leather of good quality, the seams appear strong, and keeps my head cool on hot, humid days. After registering a complaint with Amazon that the hat didn't include ANY of the accessories, a new hat was sent along with the accessories -- after telling the Amazon support staff that "all I need are the missing accessories." Now I have to go out of my way to send the new hat back, keeping the accessories that were missing in the first place which caused an issue to begin with -- or get charged for another hat! Maybe it's Amazon's processing fault, or maybe Amazon warehouse? My experience has been far less than stellar and though the hat itself is great, I feel it's highly unlikely I'll order ANYTHING from Amazon anymore. I'll be ordering directly from manufacturers from now on, or going back to "good old" brick and mortar stores.

Best looking, best fitting, genuine Aussie Kangaroo Skin hat
If this were a one-word review, "Perfect" would sum it up just fine. I used to own a Kangaroo Skin hat that I had purchased in Sydney in 2002. It went everywhere with me and was the perfect all weather hat until it got lost / stolen. After that I must have ordered and returned three, maybe four hats to Amazon in the last few months, none of the hats came even close in quality or workmanship. When I ordered this hat I was not expecting much, since hats aside, my recent experience with Amazon has been less than satisfactory - to put it lightly. Anyway, as soon as I unpacked the hat I could see from the workmanship, the quality of material, and the care taken to pack it for shipment that the people behind this took pride in their work. This hat is better than the one I had lost and it fits better as well. True to size, first rate material and workmanship. I have nothing to complain about this item from Amazon which is a refreshing change from my last few purchases (and returns). The price was well worth it! I'd say, Buy it!
