007: James Bond - Sean Connery 6-Film Collection (4K Ultra HD + Digital)

Very poor quality. Two discs are not running properly. They stopped playing suddenly, making me very upset.

When you are a guy and saw all these films prior to your 13th birthday, mostly at drive-in theaters with the lousy speaker hanging onto your dad's driver's side car window, this 4K set is a revelation. I still can't believe I was even allowed to see these films in the first place. I'm not sure my mom knew about all the bikinis. Things don't start getting really good in the series until Goldfinger, but the fact I can now experience all these in 4K and with fairly impressive surround audio from mono source material, it's pretty amazing. Bad rear projections, silly practical special effects, and the miniatures somehow have a certain 1960s charm. I love everything about these films. As a pre-teen, I wanted to BE James Bond. I had to settle for a Napoleon Solo costume for Halloween. Watching 007 now in 4K on a laser projector with an absolutely pristine transfer really takes me back. Yes, there are some soft spots and some grain here and there, but so what? I like seeing some grain and it makes the experience that more authentic. The visuals are still so good you can actually read the Ever-Ready logo on the battery that runs the tiny reel-to-reel tape recorder in FRWL. Don't think hard about the plotlines. Just enjoy the preposterous gadgets, the sexy undertones, the not so hidden cold war motifs, the fantastic cars, over the top villains, and the magnificent music propelling it all along. You can go home again. This is a definitive collection very well done.

Most impressed that Thunderball includes an alternate audio track that allows viewers to hear different dialogue and music cues from the US and British versions of the movie, some of which have not been available since VHS releases of the early 90s. All the other movies offer stunning video and audio. They’ve never looked or sounded better.

Great Bluray.

I was excited to receive this 4k collection of the best Bond ever. The 4k movies are remarkable so far I've watched Dr. No the colors are spectacular compared to the Blu ray. From Russia With Love you can see the differnce in Tatianas ' suit colors and the skin tones are more realistic. Bonds' suit is Charcoal pin stripe not navy blue as on the blu ray.
