Phycox has helped relieve my dog's arthritis.
This was the first time we tried Phycox. Our 75 pound chow mix Jesse had a bad flare up of arthritis in his hips and back. The vet gave him Rimadyl for pain, which was very effective. But I was worried about the side effects with long term use. I saw Phycox on Amazon and decided to try it. At first our dog didn't like the granules. He won't eat them just sprinkled on his food. After some experimentation, I started mixing the granules with a little water, just enough to form it into a solid ball. He gobbles that right up. If I put too much water and it's runny he hates it. He's not usually a picky dog, but I must say it doesn't smell very good. We started with four scoops a day for two weeks, then down to two scoops. Needless to say, this is a lot of work. I also bought the nugget form of Phycox Max. It's a little more expensive than the granules, but Jesse loves those. It seems that long term use of this product is working just as well as a prescription drug that could harm his stomach and it's much safer.

One of my dogs has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia and all 3 are getting older. The vet recommended an injectable supplement but because of the price and mildness of her case right now we decided to try something else first. After 3 months it seems to be working well. She seems to be moving about more easily, although sometimes still initially stiff in the mornings. The only drawback is it is expensive. Maybe not for someone with 1 dog or smaller dogs, but based on the dosage I go through a tub each month for my 3 lab-huskies between 60 and 100 lbs.

Worked Great
This worked really well for my dog with a severely damaged leg. Unfortunately his leg had to be amputated but the Phycox helped him feel better in the weeks leading up to the surgery.

I've been using Phycox Joint Support Granules for a long time with my older Black Lab with good results. I've noticed that the last few containers had small yellow lumps in the product. The last container had several large lumps of the yellow material, and one lump was larger than a golf ball. It appears the maker has a quality control problem that started several months ago.

Great Product for dogs with arthritis and easy to use
My Dog was prescribed this by our Vet and it has worked with our dog well. My Dog had to take laser treatments for a leg problem and then she prescribed this product to be used twice a day. I feel that it has given my dog the freedom to run and better than he was before. I have tried the chunks also and I do like the granules better because they mix in the dog food easier.

returning customer
My boxer is only three and has had two ACL surgeries to repair his leg and he still limps when he plays too much on it. I was hesitant to buy these because of the price but he FINALLY has been doing better and limping less often. It breaks my heart to see such a young dog suffer in pain so its worth the money. ALso, the granules last MUCH longer than the bite sized ones. Do not buy those they will run out so quickly but this container lasts me 4-5 months and my dog is 95 pounds.

Vet recommended
My vet recommended this product for my two retired racing Greyhounds years ago and they have had it daily ever since. Our male left us two years ago, but our girl is nearly 14 years old and she still gets frisky in the yard and runs around. She takes the four steps from ground level to our back deck in two bounds, and I attribute this to having Phycox as a regular part of her diet. Of course, she's not as loose and agile as she was when she was 5 years old, but how many of us are?

Talk to your vet first
This is a great supplement recommended by our vet, but by no means a miracle cure. When my 3 yr old pooch started showing signs of limping after long hikes, we gave this to her and she improved. She has been on it for about 6 months now but is limping again without any long hikes. Time to go back to the vet!
