Very Good Book - Great Introduction to Flamenco
I am slowly working my way through this book as a supplement to classical guitar studies. So far, the pieces are easy to play, but sound good. I hope that this book will prepare me for the next level of flamenco studies.

Really great book. I'm pretty much a total beginner and I can at least begin to peck through some of this. It's great.

Great book, not for beginners.
I love this book but you definitely need to have some knowledge of the guitar before you open this book.

Great for beginners
This is a very user friendly book. Includes history and some names to research if you want to listen to some of the pros at flamenco. Also is a big help to have the accompanying cd so you can hear what you are learning and match what it’s supposed to sound like.

Feel good music taught at a steady pace
I feel that this is a great introduction to the music. I have been playing for three years and enjoy all kinds of music. This book is a lot of fun to play and its not really difficult. The music is really expressive and its worth learning. Have fun.

Great for beginners and more.....
Great book, easy to follow. Even with my very novice experience with music notation and playing guitar I am learning a lot already and enjoying the spirit of Flamenco guitar and music.

It helps but...
I am totally new to flamenco. This book is helpful but has several editing errors. Such as, what do some symbols mean? Not all are explained. Listening to the audio is frustrating because you have a very professional player performing the pieces in his own style, which does not always follow the lesson book. I have to slow the audio speed down to 50% or less. Still, I am grateful for the audio as it does help somewhat.

Well written and descriptive. Challenging
Large print and nice fret fingering format. Looking forward to learning the basics of flamenco guitar playing.

Very disappointed that the book advertised does not contain the audio code required to access the files from the Hal Leonard website. Spoke to support and they said that the cover is misleading. Though the book when previewed even states that it comes with audio. I am surprised that none of the comments I have read make mention of this. As an instrument learning book it is vital to have access to audio content. I will be requesting a refund and refraining from purchasing any further educational books from Amazon.

Sorry about the pun. I have been playing guitar for years and recently have attempted to plug some gaping holes in my technique. You tube is great but the quality of guitar tuition varies so much, and its always hard to see both hands and fingers. Plus the constant back and forward is great for freezing your computer. This format with tab and music and a CD works well for me. You have to be a reasonable player though. Not for newbies. The learning curve is fairly steep but the excercises build on each other as new techniques are introduced. The music sounds good and encourages progress. I like the very first excercises where we are introduced to F maj7#11 or "The Flamenco Chord" (half an E moved up one fret). You play this simple chord and you have Flamenco right away. This is great and really sets you up for more. We get loads of techniques all in tab and music and all on the CD. I didn't really know much about flamenco thinking it was like classical music where you had to play what was written, but flamenco is more like blues with scope for improvisation once the basic techniques have been learned. My own classical was neglected. Most guitarists have a dusty one with a wide neck and fat nylon strings. Compared to a steel string acoustic they are quiet and hard to play. But If you forget trying to play it like an acoustic, lose the plectrum and allow yourself to be guided and re-educated with a book like this, you can really improve as a musician. Its so much fun to play this stuff and to learn new techniques. I recommend you get your classical guitar out of the cupboard, get some new strings and learn to play it like its supposed to be.

You need a lot of patience to complete this for an intermediate classical guitar player you might find it little difficult though it contains basics. But intermediate players will simply love this
