As the photo shows this was a really full packet of fresh curry leaves, almost all green. I did notice the shipping notice was revised, I assumed so they’d be fresher. My first time using these & I’m hooked! Don’t t believe the hype about frying the flavor out & tossing them, they crisp up & are great in everything from curry to popcorn. The taste is exotic savory, impossible to describe. I’m planning to grow one indoors now that I’ve had it. Just freeze them on a parchment sheet then label & bag for fresh taste use later!

I bought these to make an oil infusion with black mustard seeds for Turkish Eggs. I could smell them when I opened the package and the infusion was really fragrant while preparing. The leaves end up becoming crunchy which is a nice added texture with the eggs. I serve this infusion with Aleppo butter (Aleppo pepper flakes, smokey paprika and cumin in butter) over poached eggs and garlicky Greek yogurt. So good!

At least a third to half the leaves were black and dead. You can only see part of it in the pic but when opened even more dead ones inside. This is how it came the day I received. I understand it's tough to ship something like this fresh but you're better off buying the dried ones with less aroma.

I loved the leaves that survived the shipping. Only half the leaves made it. All had fallen off stems. But so good, I would still buy it again.

If anyone knows curry leaves they know the dry ones are pretty much worthless. These fresh ones are amazing. Great flavor. A must for Indian cooking

I really wished Amazon would allow two separate reviews. My original 2 star review of the dried leaves still stands (see below), but I did try the fresh leaves and would rate those 4 stars.The fresh leaves are far from perfect. I have travelled back from Fiji with fresh leaves in my luggage for many days and they were in better shape, but these were largely perfectly usable and far superior to the dried ones. I'd say about 25% of the leaves were still attached to their stems and about 10% were not really usable due to dark spots, but the rest was fine. Do NOT bother with the expedited shipping. It took them about 3 days to get the order out of the door and the postal service they chose was not priority. That was wasted money.Original Review for the dried leaves (2 stars):I purchased this because the product image showed nice looking, green, whole dried curry leaves. What arrived in the box were tiny brown leaf fragments. Very disappointing. I have used other spices from Rani before and was very happy. This was not worth it.I would have returned it but I needed it for a recipe tonight. I hope they taste better than they look.
