Rare find
I coupled this universal adaptor to a L14-30P to 6-15/20R Pigtail Welder Adapter Cord to power a home appliance that I bought abroad which runs on ~240V. I have a 240V outlet in my garage. The adaptor and cord combination solved a problem I had interfacing a UK type plug on the appliance to a NEMA type plug found on generators without having to rewire the non-domestic appliance. The combination worked well, though I wish the adaptor was more heavy duty. The construction is typical of these kinds of adaptors, but this particular universal adaptor was not easy to find. Glad one was available.

Horrible
I used a vacuum and a freezer with this. States it can support up to 15 amps. Both things I used were under that and after plugging them into this converter are both broken. $100 vacuum and $300 freezer both completely shot and started smoking. Beyond irritated.

Not for repeated use. Shoddy.
This product worked once, it worked twice, but a third try broke it. Its plug end (inlet blades/prongs) seems sturdy enough, and should handle multiple uses (multiple cycles of getting plugged-in and pulled-out). Its receptacle end (international/global/world-compatible outlet) is plain bad.Receptacle contacts (wipers) are flimsy, as if made from foil. The contact-wipers are thin, so their grip on mated plugs is weak. Worse than weak grip, the wipers are too weak to endure routine plug insertion. At my third use, I felt that the power cord did not enter smoothly. (Plug was in fine shape: no bent or twisted blades/prongs. It did not just glide straight in; I felt physical resistance increase millimetre by millimetre, sixteenth- by sixteenth-inch.) Afterward, as I was putting away my things, I peered inside this adapter outlet and found just what I was afraid of: one wiper/contact folded down. Broken, malfunctioned, after only three uses! This would be fixable, if only this was serviceable: if this adapter-outlet wart was held together with screws, then I could bend its thin-as-foil parts back to where they belong. But it is not serviceable; I will likely break it while trying. I am not surprised that this product has melted for some users. This product should not be used for cooking appliances. It ought to hold fuses, and it ought to be rated for not more than six or seven ampere. It should be permanently assigned to one appliance and remain coupled for life. It should not be uncoupled and swapped among multiple plugs, or else it WILL wear-out, and it cannot be renewed.Any decent ordinary outlet receptacle should last a thousand mating cycles. My specimen might have been an early failure outlier; but seeing how it's comprised, I wouldn't expect it to last even one hundred cycles. This is a throw-away product for our throw-away society. This should not exist. It is every individual's responsibility to not produce trash; but if one /absolutely must/ have such a shoddy disposable converter-plug-adapter-outlet, then one might rather have three for the price of one. At this date, here's a set of three for just nine dollars.
