This adapter was awful from the start: iPhone 8 doesn't recognize the adapter immediately, so music plays for a few seconds before the headphones pick it up; there is no volume control function, just a fast forward & pause function; AND the adapter just shorted out this morning on the way to work. Had these 5-6 weeks and they are going in the trash. Just go to Apple and get their adapter which does everything and will last more than a handful of days. This product is trash - literally.

Purchased to replace my standard adapter for headphones (which came with my phone but had been acting up lately). While this product works, it adds a buzzing background noise that you can clearly hear when music is silent and in the background of songs. Noticeably worse sound quality using the same pair of headphones with this cable than the apple version. All in all, it'll work if you just need something to plug into for phone calls but if you care about your sound quality, it's better to buy a different product. I know that's what I'm going to do now.[Note: The package came with instructions to plug in the adapter, turn the phone off then back on, wait three minutes, then use the adapter. I followed these steps (which didn't have any context about why this was necessary) and still ran into the problem above]

This item did not work. There was a note on the packaging stating call if it doesn’t work or not satisfied, but there was no phone number and or email address. Very frustrating.

I recently upgraded to an Iphone XR and when I got home I realized I could not plug my headphones into it. Not a fan of the ear pods I was so happy to find this adapter. Bought one for everyone in the family.

Lightening connector broke off in iPhone within 1 hour of use with very little pressure. I'm sure this will work if you plug it in and not place in your pocket, drop, or otherwise put any sideways pressure on the connector.

The problem I had hoped I would not run into when not buying apple brand products is getting these and praying that you will NOT get this equipment is not compatible with your device... it is very glitchy.. some static with it when using power and earbuds at the same time which is why you are buying this device.. I have an iPhone XS MAX so it may work better with older models.

I have bought two of these and neither one worked. Waste of my money. Guess I will just throw them in the trash!!
