Great for Daily Reading Practice
Evan-Moor’s Daily Reading Comprehension is a fantastic tool for building reading skills. The short, engaging passages and questions help students improve comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking. It’s easy to use, consistent, and perfect for classrooms or homeschooling. Highly recommended!

Great for 2nd Graders
We homeschool and love this for second grade reading comprehension. Stories are entertaining and hold my son’s attention. Love that there’s questions to answer about what we just read. Here’s a sample from the book- It’s a great price, too!

Good Supplement
My six year old was reading above grade level so her teacher recommended this book. We go through one passage a day and talk about the questions. She likes the selection of stories and I like that the questions make her think about what she's reading. Great to practice reading skills and reading comprehension. Good supplement for an on level 2nd grader, a 1st grader looking for more advanced reading passages, or a 3rd grader needing a little help.

Quick and to the point
Love this! I’ve been looking for short, quick passages that still cover a lot of ground lesson-wise. It’s a valuable, bite-sized lesson each day. The beginning of the book has a page for each lesson, teaching the skill in an easy to understand format. Then you turn in the book to that skill-focused week and do the passages. The questions aren’t all focused on the one skill being taught, but that skill is always present in at least one question. Perfect for 2nd grade or 3rd graders who need support. Also, each passage is a half page and has 4-5 questions. If you have a student who struggles with focus or fatigue, this is perfect!

Helped my daughter with confidence in reading
I bought both the Grade 1 and Grade 2 Daily Reading Comprehension Evan Moor books for my daughter's reading comprehension. We started when she was seven and finished when she was eight. She had completed the All About Reading program a few years before and she seemed to read well, but for some reason she didn't seem to retain the information or understand it. Also she would not read to herself at all. I gained the impression that she didn't think she was good at it.These books really helped my daughter to gain some confidence in her reading abilities and to understand what to pay attention to while reading. I think the first book worked better for her because the illustration with each passage engaged her. But I also think that the second book without the illustration helped her gain more confidence in her reading skills because there was no picture to clue her in.The Skill Practice section went well but the Strategy Practice section was too open ended and she wouldn't do it at all.Not much writing required which worked for my daughter well.

Great book with one small flaw
I have really enjoyed using this book for my son. I think they did a really great job with one major flaw for kiddos who are great with pattern recognition. My son is autistic and he picked up on a pattern that I didn’t realize until almost the end of the book. Almost every passage has correct answers using A, B, C, and D in some combination for the passage. There are few passages where A is used twice as the correct answer (for example). That means that my child could always figure out the 4th answer without even looking at the question and got upset for the few passages that didn’t fit the pattern. I think that this isn’t a major concern for most neurotypical children but it is something that should be looked at for future editions.
