Best thing I did when I moved into our home, was to install this for my back yard gardening needs. It was easy to install. It is extremely sturdy. I would highly recommend it to anybody who wanted a good quality hose reel. I attached mine to a wooden fence, placing 2x4 braces on the backside of it for more stability, which has not let me down. It is easy to unwind, and to wind it back up. My 50’ hose never kinks on it. Highly recommend it. The price is worth it.

This product is very durable and well made. It takes out the struggle you will typically deal with using a garden hose. Very well designed.

Quality hose reel! I wall mounted this with 125' of 3/8" hose and it is plenty sturdy. It looks great and works great too. Prior to purchasing this reel, I had two plastic hose reels joined together on the ground and they would fall over when rewinding from pulling the weight of the hose, plus I had to maneuver them over and around bushes to clear the hoses. The 180 degree swivel feature on this reel works great for positioning the hose down the perfect path between shrubs. It's easy to change positions and stays locked in place. The shelf on top makes a nice addition to place nozzles, gloves or whatever you're working with. Mounting to brick was easy with a hammer drill and 1/4" x 1 1/4" Tapcon concrete anchors. You will need to provide your own anchors and washers (4 each). Took me all of 25 minutes to assemble and mount. It would be ideal if it had a hose guide for perfect rewind placement of the hose so it doesn't overlap. Best hose reel I've owned. I rate it a 5. I spray it with a dry lube a few times a year to prevent rust and keep it looking like new.

UPDATE The First Oct2020 So after about two months the entire assembly which threads into the reel and allows for the reel to rotate while having the supply hose not rotate came out. There's a set screw which I think probably backed out and I believe others have had a similar problem. I contacted the manufacturer and they provided some instructions/suggestions for how to repair this. They offered to send a replacement part if required, but I'd still have had to install it. I was unable to source the correct washer from my local hardware store and had to fabricobble one myself as the original washer became damaged. Installing this replacement washer and the assembly was a bit of a PIA but was doable. I made sure to Loctite the set screw in place and the reel has been working fairly well since then. I'm still glad to have pitched the reel, and think it's decent, but believe the initial assembly should have been better and think there must be a higher quality hose reel assembly out there somewhere. ORIGINAL I purchased this for my home and mounted it on a 4x4 post with a couple of 4x4 cross members. The rotation of the reel is smooth and there are no leaks. I'm using two 50-foot lengths of heavy duty 5/8" rubber Craftsman garden hose and this fits on the spool with little room to spare. Maybe if it was reeled up just perfectly I could get another 25' of this hose on, but it would be difficult. So, if you're using good quality 5/8" hose, don't think you'll go over about 100'. The shelf at the top of the unit is quite handy and is seeing a lot of use. The ability to pivot the hose reel to point in one direction or another is also a very good feature and the locking mechanism works well. Being able to remove the reel relatively easily from the mounting bracket is nice because it means winter storage should be pretty simple. My gripes about this hose reel are as follows: -The entire reel is made of relatively thin steel sheet. While it is *mostly* well coated, I did note a holiday in the paint in one location and there are probably a few more. At the end of this season I'll be following someone else's advice and spraying the whole thing down with a clear coat before storing it for the winter. -The instructions don't give a recommended mounting height. Obviously it should be mounted at a comfortable height, but it'd been a lot easier for me to get my wife to understand what this height was if the instructions had stated something to the effect "It is recommended that the hub of the hose reel be mounted about 4-inches below breast level of the user, or at whatever height will be comfortable for the user to rotate the reel handle." While this is more of a my problem (spousal selection) than a their problem, clear instructions are nice. -The male fitting on the reel onto which you connect the hose is at the end of a piece of bent tubing. This tubing doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy feel regarding its robustisity (robustisity is an engineering term if you're not familiar), so I'm a little concerned that if the hose is fully extended off the reel, there is a reasonable possibility that someone pulling on the hose will break the tubing. This, I think, can be fixed with a few zip ties on the hose itself to affix it to the reel, but I'd like not to have to be doing it. I'm thinking this will require a little drilling. All-in-all I'm happy with my purchase. I'd like to get 10-years out of this reel but don't expect to.

This hose reel is a perfect solution for the location. We have been looking for a solid, decorative, large capacity hose reel for years to meet the needs of the specific location where our hose bib is. The one we have been using for the last twenty years has always been a pain in the butt to reel due to the reel handle being on the right (as opposed to left) side of the assembly. This reel has the ability to rotate allowing the handles to be on either side as well as any angle. The integral shelf makes a great storage area for the hose attachments. Construction appears to be quality, but like everything these days, it is imported, so time will tell about it longevity. The one that lasted for twenty years was an Ames product that is no longer made. I could have gotten more years out of it but Ames no longer sells parts for it. I am sure this reel will have the same issue in time. Metal reels should last a lifetime, but all of these imported reels are made of pot metal which deteriorates quickly due to the elements. I have tried plastic made reels in this location as well, but due to the direct sunlight, you can only get a year or two before they crack and fall apart.

I am well pleased with the quality of this product. I had become so accustomed to my leaky and balky old hose reeel, that I'd forgotten how easy to use a good one can be. It's newly installed so I cannot speak to durability, but the solidity of its construction augers well. I did have considerable difficulty in assembling the product. Some procedures, such as attaching the basket, require a surgeon's precision which I - Mr. fumble fingers - do not have. Also the instructions seem to be in the wrong order in one place; I mounted the frame, and then had to unmount it to add the basket. Still, the frustrations were worth it, as it works very well.

Nackdelar med produkten: Jag beställde den till Sverige, och i Sverige har vi annan standard i rörsystemet och det matchar inte amerikansk. Det är ett riktig dyrt problem att leta rätt på US standard här i Sverige som kan kosta 20-40 Euro att köpa rätt rörkopplingar. Det skulle inte vara dyrare än 1-3 Euro/ 1-3 $ att skicka med de två rätta snabbkopplingarna till ändpunkterna så att produkten skulle bli internationellt problemfri. Att sälja den för några euro dyrare skulle vara värt och spara stora besvär för kunden överallt. I helhet är jag jätte nöjd med själva produkten. På hjulet där slangen ska kopplas på behövs lite försiktig modifiering för att kunna skruva på en snabbkoppling för slangen som kan vara för säljföretaget att ha i åtanke när de designar men annars bra och robust i helhet. Tre skruvar i en led kan vara bra om man skulle skruva denna produkt på stolpe men jag själv är bland de som installerar produkten på vägg och skulle fördragit 6-8 skruvhål för stabilare montering. Produkten få 4 av 5 för att jag gick igenom stor besvär för att få tag på rätt koppling i Sverige och egentligen tycker jag att antingen skulle den levererats med rätt standard eller rätta extra kopplingar som är EU anpassad. Det tog också riktig lång till för leveransen men priset var rätt.
