My first 2 cell holders were adhesive that eventually fell off the dash. I wanted one for my vents but I drive a Ford with vertical vents. All holders I had found prevviously only worked on horizontal vents. This one is awesome! It's strong and doesn't tilt or get wobbly. Only downside is that I can't move my vent from side-to-side. I have a Pixel 3a and magnet is perfect. Maybe a bigger phone won't stay up, but I don't know. Everything is perfectly strong enough to hold and tilt where I want it with my sized phone.Make sure you have both places tightened so it stays in place and faces the way you want.Easiest way to remove from magnet is to tilt phone up while sliding downward. I use this for Doordash so am placing and removing it constantly. This seems to work.02/04/21Unfortunately, it didn't last 30 days. It already broke. Bummer because I really liked it. I think it might last much longer for horizontal vent. I am going to try one more and reinforce it with a piece of wire or something near where it broke.03/21/21I purchased another one and this time placed it in the vent a little differently. First 3 images are from 1st purchase. Next 2 images are how I have it now and seems to be holding up nicely. This spot in my vent applys more support above and below. Updating to 4 stars. Will update again in the future if this still holds or if it breaks again. Hoping that it holds!07/20/22My holder broke a couple of days ago so I have ordered a replacement. It was starting to feel loose so I tightened the bottom a little more but went too far because I heard a click. Then I could tell the clip had broken. But still, this a great mount for this price! Lasted me more than 1.5 years. And I don't have to put any sticky junk in my car like the adhesive styles. The magnet works best when you have the metal plate on the back of your phone. I have a case with a kickstand that is magnetic and just strong enough. Definitely a difference between the strength of those though. Anyway, still highly recommend!!

I've had three smartphone holders over the past few years, and this is by far the best one yet.The clip that holds the base onto the the air vent has a tightening mechanism that holds very well and doesn't budge when I pull the phone off of the base.The base is mounted on a ball joint that works very well.The magnet that you mount on your phone is very strong. My Pixel 2XL, which is a fairly big phone, stays in place without sliding off the base even though I placed the magnet on my phone *inside* my somewhat heavy case. I doubt that the adhesive on the magnet would stay stuck very well on the shiny acrylic on the outside of my case, so I was very happy that the magnet works perfectly through the case. Two sizes of metal plates that hold the phone to the magnetic base are included. The bigger, rectangular plate is bigger than the base, so you don't have to worry about lining up the magnet with the base when you slap your phone onto the holder... there's lots of extra magnet room.I'm very pleased with this purchase, and I hope that the plastic joint, clip and tighteners hold up for a reasonably long time. I'm buying four more for gifts. Update: on a very long drive, car vibrations caused the phone to rotate a bit, but I still think this is the best phone-holder yet. I'm sure that if the metal plate were on the outside of the case, this wouldn't happen, because my case has a shiny, surface where it meets the magnet base.

I have an iPhone 8+, aka, big phone. Over time the nut that holds the pivot that prevents the phone from going sideways/portrait loosens. Not the wing nut that holds the mount in the vent. So the phone falls sideways until I tighten it. More annoying then anything. the phone does not fall and remains secure. lighter phones may work better. A better way to stop that from happening and lock it in place may be the next engineering improvement for it. It also may because the overall mount sticks out of the vent fairly far and the phone is a bit out there. Because may phone is large and my vent in the dash is recessed it works for me. Overall though I like it.

The media could not be loaded. My is the perfect attachment to mount my mobile phone. I have a magnet in my phone and the phone case. My phone connects and hold great through my entire ride. This is a great price for a good working hands free car mount.

This phone/GPS mount is ideal for travel. It is small, yet can be broken down into smaller pieces and put away, and it also holds fast to a car's vents with its rubber jaws. So long as your phone has a metal plate either attached to its back or sandwiched between its case and back, it will strongly hold onto the phone. There are two tightening knobs: one to tighten the gripping jaws and another to keep the magnet pointed at the proper angle you select (the magnet sits on a small mounting ball around which it can rotate). If the mount should ever fall off during rough travel, it would likely be because the gripping jaws were not sufficiently tightened. Overall, I'm highly impressed with the quality of this mount and its versatility. It is well made, small and unobtrusive, and does its job well.
