The 30-Minute Mediterranean Diet Cookbook: 101 Easy, Flavorful Recipes for Lifelong Health Review: Quick & Tasty Recipes with Health Benefits! - As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, this is one of those cookbooks I've been waiting for my entire career of several decades! I can simply promote these recipes because they "taste good" and don't have to mention they're "good-for-you." They're created by two dietitians and taste-tested by colleagues, and most importantly, their kids and husbands had to like them! Several of the recipes are standard favorites, but with a "twist." For example, the beef sliders include chopped mushrooms for a juicy burger with added veggie benefits. The pasta for the Pasta Fagioli Soup (photo with the soup ladle) is cooked directly in the soup pot for a quick one-pot meal. The hummus (photo with carrot and celery sticks) is made with budget-friendly peanut butter rather than the more expensive tahini (sesame paste) and contains just 5 ingredients. The "Marinara Eggs" (skillet with 3 eggs) are cooked directly in a pan of Italian diced tomatoes ... delicious and so easy to make ... my husband and I are likely to prepare this most often for a quick dinner meal. Other recipes offer new recipe flavors and techniques such as "Pomegranate Cherry Smoothie Bowl. All of the recipes are made with a short list of ingredients. Another thing I like about this book are all the tips the authors give to make both the experienced cook and the beginning cook successful. For example: -- Ingredient substitutions and alternatives are offered. -- Both quantities and approximate amounts of ingredients are given; for example, "2 garlic cloves, minced (about 1 teaspoon)". -- Times, temperatures and size of preparation bowls and cooking pans are given throughout. -- You don't have to guess whether or not to cover a pan or skillet when you cook a recipe. -- There recipes are appropriate or can be adapted for a variety of dietary needs such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc. -- Though most recipes will make four servings, it is easy to make more or less of several of the recipes. Many, such as the soups, will taste even better the next day. -- It is easy to swap out ingredients for many recipes ... if you don't have one type of bean, use another. Missing walnuts ... try another nut. (FYI ... these are my own photos and how the recipes looked when I served them. I hope you enjoy them as much as my husband and I did. We certainly plan to repeat them in our meals. And look forward to trying more of the recipes in the book!) Review: Exceptional Cookbook! - Wonderful cookbook with tasty and nutritious recipes thay can be prepared easily and quickly. This was our first Mediterranean diet cookbook, and we use it at least once a week. Thus far, we have only encountered one recipe that we are unlikely to try again, and that is not typical of our experience with other cookbooks. Highly recommended!

Exceptional Cookbook!
Wonderful cookbook with tasty and nutritious recipes thay can be prepared easily and quickly. This was our first Mediterranean diet cookbook, and we use it at least once a week. Easy To Follow Recipes
I wish the cookbook had more pictures. When deciding what recipe I would like to try I rely on pictures when I make my decision. I like the first chapter because it explains the diet.

Easy, delicious recipes with inexpensive ingredients!
I am a working Mom with a toddler just trying to get my carnivore husband and picky-eater of a kid to eat more veggies and fish but without much time to cook, and this cookbook has been a game-changer for healthy dinners in my house. Do yourself (and those you cook for) a favor, and buy it now! Personally, I am tired of having fancy cookbooks or chefs tell me a recipe should only take 30 minutes to cook, and then an hour and a half later after my kitchen is a huge mess, I realize they didn't include the prep chopping in that timeframe. I also have received lots of cookbooks as gifts that my husband and I barely use as we have tried a few recipes and haven't liked them, and didn't feel the extra time for the recipe was worth it. This cookbook is not like the others! It's honestly the most used cookbook in my house (of about 20 cookbooks). Most of these recipes actually take less than 30 minutes to make including the chopping and can-opening, and they are healthy and delicious! The ingredients are ones you would already have on hand. Many of these have become weeknight staples in my house like the Salmon grilled on lemons, Shrimp Puttanesca that takes only 15 minutes, and the Roasted Red Pepper Chicken in the broiler, and the Salmon with Red Pepper and Tomatoes. I agree with other reviewers who said the recipes are so easy you memorize them quickly, which makes for easier cooking. The ingredients are also cheap and easy to stock.

Meh, uninspiring
I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something about this cookbook is totally uninspiring to me. I think it’s largely because of the lack of pictures and the uninteresting, ordinary recipes. I don’t find myself reaching for this book at all. Since I bought the book I’ve forced myself to use it. Everything that I’ve made has been edible, but nothing that I’d make again. This is a matter of personal preference, but I don’t care for chicken thighs and most of the chicken recipes use chicken thighs. Just thought I’d throw that out there in case you also have the same preference towards chicken breast. Even though I don’t personally like this book and wouldn’t necessarily recommend it I’m still giving it 3 stars. If you are new to Mediterranean cooking this could be a decent introduction. The recipes are straight forward and don’t require tons of specialty ingredients. An example of this would be the substitution of peanut butter for tahini in hummus. I appreciate that level of accessibility. Overall, I say skip this one. A similar, but much better book is “The Mediterranean Diet Cookbook for Beginners” by Elena Paravantes. Hope that helps!

My book
I’ve really enjoyed this Mediterranean diet cookbook. The recipes are easy to follow, healthy, and full of flavor. Most of the ingredients are things I already have or can find at any store, which makes cooking from it super convenient. The photos are inspiring too and make you want to try everything. It’s a great book if you’re looking to eat better without feeling like you’re on a strict diet.

Having read a number of Mediterranean Diet recipe books this has been my favourite. Easy to cook recipes and also how to incorporate these into your meal planning and how I can develop this along side my allotments planning.

This is an easy, flavourful, fabulous cookbook. Other reviewers have referenced the many health benefits. It includes an easy to understand overview of the Mediterranean diet and basic principles of the diet and lifestyle. It also provides a helpful list of foods and equipment to stock in your kitchen and pantry so that you can easily cook this way. There are 101 recipes for breakfast, snacks, soups and salads, main dishes and desserts. Each recipe is clear and easy to follow and true to the name of the book - taking 30 minutes or less to make. The Roasted Shrimp Gnocchi Bake was my stand out favourite and I have cooked it many times. If you are interested in incorporating delicious, flavourful and healthy meals I encourage you to purchase this cookbook.
