Great for my VP9!
I purchased this light for my HK VP9. I had seen pictures of it while searching for a weapon right, and I liked how this light complimented the looks of my pistol. The one I recieved was the Gen. 2 (with the screw, not the latch-like device, see pictures). I had heard horror stories about the Gen. 1 falling off while shooting, but the Gen. 2 has stayed tight through about 400 rounds so far without needing to be tightened, and I don't foresee having to tighten it anytime soon. The dimensions of this light are perfect for my pistol, as I didn't want too much added length or width. The light adds minimal length, and it's width is almost exactly the same as the width of my pistol. This light has a shut-off feature that deactivates the switches by turning the face of the light a quarter turn, perfect for those who like to transport their weapons in a range bag with other weapons or gear jostling around the bag. As for the switches themselves, they are paddle-style switches on either side of the trigger guard. I preferred this style of switch because I find them easier to activate than some of the toggle-style switches on other lights. The light is more than adequate for proper acquisition in low/no light situations; bright enough to see your target and get a proper sight picture, but not so bright that it end up blinding you or ruining your night vision. Spill is just right. This device is also very light, I barely notice the difference in weight. This device came set up to attach directly to 1913 Picatinny-style rails, but can also be configured to attach to universal rails after removing a small adaptor piece from the mounting surface. It runs on only one battery, which reduces size, but also reduces run time to about 1.5 hours. One of the best features is the price! Having a couple Surefires from my time in the military, I wasn't willing to shell out $400 for a light. The Inforce APL is priced very competitively, but is worth well above the price I paid.PROS:-Great price-Ergonomic paddle switches-Compact-Shutoff feature-Perfect amount of light-Secures very tightlyCONS:-One battery = about 1.5 hours of operating time-Website states that it will NOT fit the Beretta PX4 Storm or the HK USP

It works.
I mounted this to my Springfield Armory XD-40.Pros:- I like the momentary on function. I do wish there was a version similar to the HSP WML that's only Momentary On, unlike the quick push for always on, and long push for momentary that this one has.- It's small, not too heavy- Controls are easy to reach with support hand thumb without much shift, or any shift in grip.- It's WAY cheaper than a SureFire.Cons- It's not a popular light (I don't know why) so if you're looking for a holster that will carry this mounted to a pistol, you most likely won't find one that's off the shelf. Some of the custom Kydex holster manufacturers will list the InForce APL as an option for the light bearing holsters, but some won't, and you'll have to specify it as a custom option.ConclusionThis is a great light that mounts solidly to my pistol with easy to reach controls. It won't accidentally discharge the light because it caught on something, only if something pushes up against it, but that shouldn't happen because this is supposed to ride in the holster, with the gun.

Light and Bright...and Easy to Use Too!
A great weapon light for pistols. Lightweight and easy to mount, and it even has a backup mounting key stored in the body of the light. The description say black body, but the pictures make it very clear; it isn't exactly "black" is has black parts, the lens crown, the mounting clamps, but the main body is more of a slate grey. This light is also extremely easy to use, especially since it's ambidextrous. There are two easy to reach and reach to press paddles. If you want a constant on one tap on either paddle and the light is sighting bright! Another tap and the lights off. Only need a quick momentary light? Press down a paddle and hold it down an the light stays on as long as you hold it.Now the ONLY reason I had to knock off a star.... NO STROBE! While some may say you don't need strobe It's a standard on a majority of lights in this price range and I think if it had that third feature, it would be a real tough piece to beat.Regardless of the strobe the InForce APL is still really really good and it is definitely money well spent. It has found a permanent home on my G17 and will continue to ride along until I can find something that can top the APL across the board. I don't really see that happening unless I'm forking over a lot more money.

Top quality design, but triple check compatibility first!
Top notch design & quality... However, my one star refers only to the lack of information provided on this product by both the seller and the manufacturer(who I spoke with directly and don't seem to have a clue). THIS WILL NOT SECURELY FIT ON THE SPRINGFIELD XDS .45, 4.0"! Despite what the manufacturer told me it will not fit. It only engages half of the rail and the alignment notch doesn't line up so it will slide off even after tightening the screw. The trigger guard on the above mentioned firearm prevents this. It would have been nice to have that info up front.

Seems well construced, but my specific product has very poor reliability...the light will work for a period of time, then when I decide to randomly inspect it it does not turn on. This has happened a dozen times over a few days. Requires manipulation of the battery and a few light bumps against the palm in order to get it to work. Im sure its just a manufacturing flaw, but as a defense contractor I would not trust this light with my life in a low light situation.

The light is great however, the battery dies so quickly without even much use. That's a deal breaker for me. I need something that I could rely on in time of need. I've tried with many different batteries.
