Liberty Supply 3-Pack of Plastic Sap Buckets with Lids - for Making Maple Syrup

I purchased at least 20 of these sap collection buckets. The 3-packs come with a drill bit and instructions on how to collect sap. I highly recommend using these buckets for your sap collecting!

They are nice buckets but would be nice to have clips for the lids or the correct taps that the lids fit

Kind of disappointed that the listing shows a matching bucket/lid set. But what arrived was lime green buckets and Kelly green lids. It looks terrible. I’m still not sure how the lids are supposed to attach/hinge onto the buckets so for now I just have it hooked behind the spile and resting on the bucket. A strong wind will definitely blow it off. With that said, the buckets feel sturdy and the hole where you attach it to the hook is reinforced so it doesn’t seem like it will break easily.

These are ordinary sap buckets, standard issue plastic. They work well, but neophytes should know 3 things about them that reviews indicate many don't: 1) lids are not meant to fit tightly, they're meant to overlap all around, keeping stuff from falling into the bucket, be it rain, twigs, squirrels… 2) lids attach to spiles, not to buckets; flipping lids up to remove and empty buckets leaves them attached to the tree. Obviously, you need spiles with top hooks for lids as well as annular constrictions or bottom hooks for buckets. 3) clean food-grade UV-resistant buckets are necessary, but scarce, so these are excellent and recommended; however, they are widely available for about half what's being charged here.

Good quality but expensive.

It took me about 10 seconds to realize the lid would not fit the bucket. What a joke.

Expensive buckets without the lids being attached is just ridiculous. Nice buckets, terrible way to sell a collection product.I'd definitely spend more next time to get buckets with real lids that don't require us to do all the work.
