Works as advertised, just a little slow (Updated).
TCP Server mode worked exactly as expected. I am able to send raw data via tcp sockets to the device, and it simply forwards it along out the serial port. A response/acknowledgement is forwarded right back through the opposite direction. Setup was quick and easy. The missing star is for latency. I am seeing up to a few whole seconds before my data is passed through to the serial endpoint. The response is sent back almost instantly, so I’m not entirely sure wherein lies the bottleneck. Not disappointed given the price of the unit. Update: After some more experimenting, I found that the latency I was experiencing was the unit trying to accept NEW connections from remote clients (I was creating a new socket connection for every request). If you allow your connections to persist, the response is appropriately speedy.

Great little device to upgrade older machines for networks
I have purchased quite a few of these, and similar ones that come without the metal housing. I use them for getting data off of machines that have serial outputs, and then broadcast it over the network to a computer that receives the information and stores it in our database. You can configure the unit to be in several different modes (TCP, UDP, etc..). The software that comes with these works ok but you can tell it was written by non-native english speakers and then translated. It is fairly straight forward on how to get this guy to work but you may need to read the instructions more than one time to understand everything they are telling you to do. They also provide some software that installs a virtual COM port on your computer so you can connect to this device (and whatever this device is connected to via its RS485/RS232 connection) over the network as if you computer was plugged straight into the machine. This option has helped me to program PLCs remotely from the comfort of my office and multi-monitor setup. I prefer this option to taking my smaller screened laptop out to the machine in question. Just remember to set up this device for whatever mode you are needing to run it in. I've purchased about a dozen of these guys and will probably purchase another dozen. I just wish they had these on Prime so shipping wasn't so long (or expensive).

can't make it work
I spent a half day with this. and got nothing working. All I wanted is to put a RS232 serial data into the one side and connect a RJ45 Ethernet into the other and have it be transparent. I have used a Digi International Port Server TS4 for years and it is simple to configure, doing just that. I was looking for something in a less expensive price range.

Works, a tiny bit slower than others
A little difficult to setup but works. Its not as fast as the Lantronix's version but its fine for software programming and testing. Tested it from 8,000 miles away and it works like you are there but a little more delay than the other mfg's

works fine.
Simple installation; works fine.

These work very well and are easy to use
I got these well before the end shipping date. These work very well and are easy to use. Just make sure you have the correct serial port parameters.

Works really well as a TCP client, though one star knocked off as the Tx/Rx LEDs seem to be reversed. Set-up is simple and the inclusion of power supply terminals (for standard 24VDC) is a real plus. it's a solid piece of kit too. One thing not mentioned in the product blurb is the availability of some additional test utilities from the manufacturers web page that allow the raw traffic through the converter to be analysed. That proved really useful and is something lacking in some converters costing 10x the cost.

La instalación es sencilla y cumple perfectamente. Adiós cable serie y complicaciones de envío de datos a múltiples dispositivos.

Solo me funcionó como servidor y como cliente...pero como ambos (bidireccional) nunca pude hacerlo funcionar.
