Evan FischerAccessory Belt Idler Pulley Compatible with Nissan Frontier 98-04 / Xterra 00-04 4 Cyl 2.4L

The power steering idler pulley on my 2004 Nissan Frontier has been running crooked for years. It was also making noise when it was cold. It finally caused it to throw the belt so I figured I would replace it since I had to get in there to replace the belt anyway. As others have mentioned, the hardware is a bit different from the factory set up. It uses a different center bolt and spacer and it doesn't have a rear dust shield. The bearing is sealed so I don't know why you would need the shield anyway, but it does have one on the front just like the factory. The parts are not interchangeable with the factory parts, so you just have to go with it. It was a fairly simple install. Just remove the center nut and back out the adjusting screw until it falls apart. Remove the pulley and old center shaft. Install the new one in reverse order. It lined up perfectly and is totally silent. No more crooked belts or noise when it starts. My truck sounds like new again.

Works well for a 2001 Nissan Frontier 4 cylinder. My old pulley had a bad bearing but replacing it with this one and a new belt fixed the power steering troubles. It does look a little off from the original but performs just as well.
