Maw Broon's But an Ben Cook book: A Cookbook for Every Season, Using All the Goodness of the Land

A marvellous book, very evocative of my childhood, growing up in Scotland! we used , as kids, to read the comic strip "Oor Wullie,and the Broons, each week, and were given the Broons Annual at Christmas.I love the way the book is laid out, ineresting layouts and illustrations by the incomparable Dudley Watkins. My only gripe that the name of the artist, who died in 1969. wa not mentioned.

Another hilarious presenatation of good cookery tips, recipes, and the expected humour associated with Maw Broon and her brood. I particularly like the "scrapbook" look collection of recipes and ads from magazines. This book even has how to fly fish in it as well as recipes for cooking your catch. There is absolutely no telling what you'll find within the contents of the Maw Broon books. Again, Maw Broon is my hero!

I absolutely love this cookbook! I ordered 2 of them one as a gift for my sister. being born and raised in Scotland we grew up reading the Broons and when I saw these cookbooks I had to buy them. Definitely entertaining. I have more of the Broons cooks books on order.

A present for my Scottish wife, she loved it ,brought back many happy memories of old time Scottish recipes and laughs at the familiar comics.

Was not expecting the pages to look like photos of old worn out recipe cards. Not that it's bad it's different. I also found these recipes more align with those I got thru my grandmother than those found on line.

Like having a photocopy of Maw's personal cookbook/scrapbook. Enjoying reading and rereading it!

This is so much more than just a cookery book. It truly is one of my favorites books in my collection, such beautiful attention to detail. Highly recommend as a gift as well.

Love Maw Broon and was really looking forward to receiving this but the text is practically unreadable font and size. Very disappointed. Publishers should realise that not all of us can read spider scratches.

loved these kitchen memories and I was looking for a particular recipe but so far haven't found it. I grew p with Ma Broon every Sunday and this brought back great memories for me as well as the family, as we rushed to get the middle section off the newspaper comic centre.

Its really good cook book full of jokes and comics. The joint up writing is a little hard to read but im getting there. Parts are written as if in a Scottish accent really cool

this book should be in everybody's kitchen recipe's galore and easy to follow instructions having lived in scotland many years for me easy to understand but if you like real food this is the book for you also you can buy maw broons fudge from amazon the book explains weiights and measures and simple instructions that even a child could follow also in full color complete with our willie comic strip i cant praise this cook book enough so what i ye waiting for buy it
