Q: Where are the cee tee pliers made? i'm looking at the 6", 6.5" & 8" pliers. my dad only wants ones made in the usa. please advise. thx!

According to a post in ToolGyud (sic!) there are two manufacturing lines for Cee-Tees, one in the USA and one in Communist China (or Taiwan?) I do not know the model numbers for the different lines. Check on Google about ToolGyud and ask. If your Dad only want USA-made pliers tell him that Wilde's pliers are very good. If he preferes non plastic grips Wilde, Proto, Armstrong, John Deere and many others make such pliers. For Armstrong check at DayMark. The others you can find on Amazon. The Cee-Tees are good but rattly, the edges of the handles are not smooth ground. Their cutting edges are sharp. The best USA-made slip joint pliers I know are SK's, but they have plastic sleeved grips.

Q: What size is the jaw opening?

The most practical jaw opening with which you still can give the handles a good squeeze depends of how long your fingers are. My long finger is about 3 inches. with the pliers in the first position the max opening for me is 1 1/8". In the second position the max opening is 1 3/4". If your fingers are longer than mine's the max opening will of course be wider.
