I love this book.Christopher Hart is a very clever chap.Anyone who can teach me to draw has real skill. lolAt school I was so bad at Art, my teacher couldn't even look at me when he handed back my "paintings." I once had a homework assignment to paint a picture of our lanwmower. It was so bad I cringed handing it in, and he cringed handing it back. Ouch!This book is full of humour, passion and brilliant 'how-to' instruction.Stick men be gone. I'm drawing me a picture.I intend to add cartoons to my marketing blog in the near future (more practice req'd first :-) and this book has given me the confidence to go ahead with that plan.Highly recommended.Now, if only I could fix my 'singing' voice...

I have most of the author's books and in my opinion this is definitely the best one to start with even though he has also published "Cartooning for the beginner". At least this is the one that I personally found most helpful. I used to draw cartoons every evening as a child but I gave up as I started to grow up. As an adult I decided to start again but found it difficult to break out of my original style. I often gave up only to try again a few years later. What really helped me was the way this book really showed how to break down a head or body into its component shapes.

Really fun book, teaches you how to draw cartoons people in stages costumes and props, some animals, interiors and exteriors even choosing colours. The text and illustrations are easy to follow and understand. Would highly recommend.

Having bought Cartoon Cool for myself, and being by the same author, i bought this as well as a copy of Cartoon Cool as a present for my nieces kid. I did have a quick flick through it before giving it and it looks in the same great style as Cartoon Cool, so as i haven't had a good look, i'm only giving 4 stars but my nieces kid loves it.

Lively, almost whirlwind, rush through cartooning.Very accessible and well laid out with lots of images and not so much text.Probably one of Hart's better cartooning guides.Covers quite a lot of ground.
