Worked perfectly but not all cars can make it work.

Drove 600 highway miles with canoe on roof rack. Exceptional stability. No need to reposition if you do not lift the hood once in place.I used cam lashing straps (no J hooks), makes for poor visibility. Once at my destination I converted back to my ropes. They are always tied on my canoe handle so connection is super easy and make for useful connections to a dock.No wind swaying when used with a stern tie down as well.First photo w straps. Because newer vehicles have fewer places to attach hook to secure tie downs this item is a "must have" for me. This order is the second time I have purchase these items and they work great for securing my kayaks to my vehicle. I have been using them, under the hood, on the front (under the hood), but with my new vehicle I'll be using these under the rear hatch door as well. They are very strong and stay secure. Again, a "must have" for me.

It worked on the front of my Honda Passport hood as an anchor point for securing the front of my kayak. Did not damage the car, doesn't require a large void to place, and did not break or deteriorate in July heat.

They are very eacy to use and they worked perfectly so far. I didn't want to tie the front of my kayak to my actual car front and back so these were a good cpmpromise. The only thing with the one that was used with securing it to the inside of my liftgate was, everytime I needed to get into the back cargo, I had to re-tie and re secure it.
