I replaced and existing fuel line assembly with this one because I was having trouble keeping my engine running. Thins did not improve after installing this one. Took it to a Marine mechanic and he told me the new one I just bought was defective. The check valve did not work. He replaced it with a better fuel bulb and check valve and now my engine runs fine. I could not return it because he did reuse the connectors and hose. The mechanic also told me to replace the hoses in a year or two because the liner in this type of hose was famous for collapsing within a few years.

My old hose had stiffened up after 26 yrs. This new one is nice and loose. Fit my tank and Mercury outboard nicely!

I bought this fuel hose to go with my new 6 HP Mercury 4 stroke outboard. From the start I had a horrible time trying to get the end fittings all the way into the motor and the fuel tank, but was thinking that over time they might loosen up a bit. Well, they haven't. I have to apply so much force trying to get them both to "click" that I'm afraid of breaking the fittings at the fuel tank and the motor. The hose and primer bulb are fine, but you'll need to buy the Quicksilver fittings for the ends. I am getting new fittings for this hose and tossing out the Pactrade fittings.
