God's Generals: The Revivalists (Volume 3) Hardcover – Illustrated, May 23, 2008

Very good writing, easy to read. Captivating stories. Well balanced. Maybe a bit too focused on the English speaking world (American and UK), though.

This book was recommended by our Pastor Steven Huntley of True Divine Baptist in Montgomery Alabama. I read the one on Kathryn Karhlum and now Billy Graham. I have always been fascinated with the both of them. The power of the Holy Spirit that seem to empower them when they speak. How the message about JESUS Christ seem to come to life as I watched them as a young girl. Now that I am older that message is still just as powerful today. They are great pioneer's for JESUS Christ.

Great book. Kindle version has no table of contents. You can save books marks for each chapter so that you can locate each General faster in the future. That, of course, is not a problem with the book but Kindle. Otherwise it is great to read about how these people got their start and overcame their adversity as opposed to blaming it on their circumstances or the hand they were dealt in life. The focus of this book is on noted reformers and revivalists. I also really liked the "God's Generals" that looks at the lives of the healing evangelists (Wigglesworth, Lake, Woodworth-Etter, etc).

Mr. Liardon never fails to beautifully capture the lives of men and women in the Body of Christ in his writings.

The Gods Generals series by Roberts Liardon are some of the best books I have ever read. This book challenges the reader for a deeper, commited relationship with God. The question is: are you going to take up the challenge? This book and the others are not for individuals that are only going to read and do nothing, these books are for those that will get up and serve God with passion. Pastor Roberts makes it easy to read and understand the lives of these giants, their failures, their succeses, their defeats and their victories. Great book. Awesome read.

Excellent read.

I so did enjoy reading the history of how revival moved our country forward spiritually. The sacrifices each of the fathers of revival made to keep the Spirit of God first and foremost as the fuel of revival was so compelling. This book should be compulsory reading for all students of the ministry. It stirs the soul to righteousness and renews exuberance in ministry. Thank you Roberts Liardon. My God richly bless and keep you. As my mother told me before she passed, "Do the work until it's over".
