Q: How do I set the motion settings?

under the sensor there are three tiny dials. Although it didn't come with instructions turn the dial for motion higher or lower to detect motion.

Q: Can it be mounted onto a metal carport?

Yes. No problem. Must have your own screws

The SENS controls the distance of detection. The TIME sets how long it will light before it automatically turn off. The LUX sets how dark of the day you want it to work.

Q: Can the motion sensor be rotated 180 from the front? In other words I need the motion sensor to point in the opposite direction from the light.

I would say yes. But if you do your adjustments will be facing upwards andexposed to weather.
