I typically use R+Co’s chain mail heat protectant spray, but I found that that one left my hair feeling sticky or clumpy if I accidentally over-sprayed a section. I also was afraid that with a spray, I would miss spots and waste product by getting spray in the air. Thus, I opted this time for a serum. I have to take very diligent care of my course, curly, bleached hair so I did my research and thought I’d give Amika’s serum a try. I already use their shampoo/condish/hair mask, so I wasn’t surprised to see this product have great reviews. I’m so glad I bought it! I use only 3 pumps for my thick, shoulder-length curly hair when I put heat on it and it does the trick. It also smells amazing (citrus) and the smell remains even after I straighten my hair. Both my husband and I hate the smell of burned, fried hair but that’s just the cost of flat ironing it at 375 degrees, but this one masks that pretty well. The only issue I have is I think I got a faulty bottle, because it leaks if it’s tipped on its side. Otherwise, it’s a tiny but mighty heat protectant serum!

This product is amazing! It smells great and leaves my hair so soft and silky after the blow out and after using the flat iron. It’s expensive but a little bit goes a long way. Worth the money. My hair is thick, curly and on the dry side. May work differently on thinner and greasy hair.
