Jerry Lee Lewis "Great Live Performances of the 50's etc"
This is a very young Jerry Lee performing like a "wildman" on the piano. The 50's:It begans with his appearance on The Steve Allen Show, July 28, 1957, where he performs "Whole Lot of Shakin Going On". The energy, wildness and emotion he puts into this performance is awesome. On the Dewey Phillips show 1957 - He performs a Hank Williams classic "You Win Again" (He turned this into a gold record). He also performs "Great Balls of Fire" - again this a very entergetic performance full of emotion. On the Dick Clark Show, 1958 - He performs "Breathless" - again an outstanding performance. The 1960"s:In 1964 on an English Television program (This was after the English sandal about him marring his 13 year old cousin Mira had died down.) he performs:"Great Balls of Fire"; "You win Again"; "High School Confidential" -(Rocking at the High School Boop); "I'm on Fire"; "Your Cheatin Heart"; and "Whole Lot of Shakin Going On". These performance are entergetic and awesome also. He is surrounded by young people who are going wild. The 1970"s:On Pop goes the Country television show:"Who's Gonna play this Old Piano?""Me and Bobby McGee"A very special performance with his first cousin (his daddy's sister's son) Mickey Gilley: They perform the "Ferriday Medley". They perform side by side both on open-top grand piano's. This medley consists of 5 songs, which end with the "Lewis Boogie". It's great!!!There is bonus material which includes a trailer of Jerry Lee's movie "High School Confidential" which shows some drag racing and high school boop dancing. Also, Jerry Lee is interviewed in the original Sun Studio in 1993.Overall, this is a great archival dvd, that is part of Rock and Roll history. If you like rock and roll history or just Jerry Lee, I highly recommend this one, you won't be diappointed.

Great Raw Footage of the Killer!!!!
This footage really takes you back to the time and gives you a great feel for the era. Lots of raw moments of just how talented this man is. Plenty of entertainment if you appreciate Jerry Lee Lewis. And how can you not? Nice piece of history of Rock and Roll from the Killers perspective.I definitely recommend to any true diverse music lover!

Ted's Reviews
Time Life's production was of dismal quality. There is incomprehensible distortion. Bass was simply thrown together, with it being distorted in some instances, to nearly none at all in other parts. The only redeeming quality of Time Life's production was with Incredible Jerry Lee Lewis himself, in an interview. Even that was poorly done on Time Life's part. The DVD was an import from Mexico, which speaks for Time Life's care. Just contract it out no matter what the consequence. Jerry Lee Lewis is an incrdible accomplished artist. This DVD does not do Jerry Lee Lewis justice in any way. I rate the quality of the DVD as nothing more than junk. At he same time I applaud the genius of Jerry Lee Lewis, just not this DVD.

good history, because it straightens it out
The DVD clears up a lot of myths about The Killer's life

A treasure
This is worth it just for the Steve Allen classic performance, maybe the best R & R performance ever! A must see.

Fair video
There is nothing wrong with this video; many of the performances shown on this video I had seen somewhere else. I thought this video would have had un-published performances by Jerry Lee Lewis but such is not the case. The bonus interview is okay but I thought more videos of his life would be shown during the interview; perhaps there are none. It is a fair video, image video quality is fair as is the sound. There are better videos out there of Jerry Lee Lewis performing with other musical figures that have excellent sound and better quality video. If you are a Jerry Lee Lewis fan and have followed his career, this video will not hurt to have in your collection.
